Phil Collins is the only artist that has "remakes" better than the originals. A crystal clear voice with a touch of soul is also obvious. Always a pleasure to hear him perform.

Anathema. Nobody does this better than David Ruffin. Listen to Ruffin's solo, singing in the documentary "Hitsville: The Making of Motown". He was amazing.

I am so glad Phil Collins completed this project. I love Motown and this cover is of one the finest Motown songs...ever - in my opinion. Shout out to Ray Monette, you Da Man (on the Axe)!!!! Love to see this show here in Chicago..

It is amazing but the man still has it. He did a wonderful job with this song as did his band. I have not heard this song in oh something like 20 plus years and he makes it sound as fresh as the day it came on the radio back in the 60's (?).... Go Phil!

Sem esforço algum, a voz brilha. Esse cara canta muito !!!!! O foda é conviver com os lixo da atualidade, por mais que você não escuta, tem alguns lugares que você vai acaba escutando mesmo não querendo. aff.... Aqui no bairro sempre passa uns idiotas escutando Funk no ultimo volume.

Did anyone know that one of the backup singers is Terron Brooks who played in 'The Temptations' movie which came out in 1998? It's one of the best movies of all time! If you love movies like 'Ray', 'Dream Girls', and 'The Five Heartbeats' to name a few, you'll love 'The Temptations'.

That's right! Terron Brooks played Eddie Kendricks in 'The Temptations' mini-series and he also did all of his own singing, except for the song 'Paradise', which was actually the original recording by Kendricks himself. Incidentally, both Christian Payton (Paul Williams) and D.B Woodson (Melvin 'Blue' Franklin) also did all of their own vocals for it, whereas Leon (David Ruffin) and Charles Malik Whitfield (Otis Williams) merely lip-synched to archive recordings and soundalike singers.

Phil Collins is definitely not trying to mimic David Ruffin. It would both look AND sound utterly ridiculous if he did that. He is merely paying tribute to one of his many music heroes who inspired him in his youth. That's all. Phil loves the classic Motown hits of that era and this is just an honest and sincere celebration of some truly iconic songs.
