After Rolf went inside, Phil had to fall back on his other impersonations: Jimmy Savile, Stewart Hall and Dave Lee Travers.

Like the Grumbleweeds Robin Colvills impression of Jimmy Saville, Phil mightve heard stories of Rolf (it was more well hidden) but like Robin he would never have given such an affectionate impression or even done it if he knew the truth.

I saw him in Brighton. This chap in the audience tried to spoil it for everybody by continually heckling; Phil's response was perfect, he said, "It's now 8:30 (or whenever) in the evening, and all the other hecklers have stopped......but the one with the DURACELL battery......" 😂😅😊

Apparently (For what it's worth considering what a twat Harris turned out to be) having seen his impersonation of him, he declared Phil Cool to be by far the most accurate of all the ones that used to try and 'Do' him. Absolutely right!

I love the story about him going down to The Falklands to do a show for the lads in the armed forces. During his performance someone in the audience let out a loud fart. Apparently Phil stopped for a moment and said "That's the first time that I've ever been heckled by a real arsehole!"

I miss seeing Phil Cool. He was great and had a face that makes Jim Carrey's look stiff. Unfortunately when celebs started literally getting caught with their pants down a lot of the most popular impressions were put in the bin. Not just for Phil but all impressionists.

I remember someone in the 90s doing an impression of George Formby singing a Prince medley. I distinctly remember him standing there with his ukelele, singing, "Twenty three positions in a one-night stand" from 'Gett Off'! 😂 It might have been on The Fast Show, but I'm not sure.

Phil cool did some great impressions, the problem with his own show was it got a bit tired and worn out, the musical impressions of singers went to extreme lengths including a whole band and lasted 5 minutes or longer, it felt as though what could have been a very funny 20 minute show was stretched to 30 minutes, better placed to have had a couple of other impressionists on to do some short gags instead of a couple of overly long freddie mecury or mick jagger entire song's

Yes I agree. He was an excellent mimic but unfortunately he didn't know when to stop with some of his gags. He used to carry them on for far too long, often after he delivered the punchline.

Rolf was not a great warm character in real life [first hand knowledge], but he was set up and broken by the Met, and we all know that Police Forces are run by perverts and the woke agenda, along with the corrupt media such as the BBC. Rolf was a sacrificial giveaway to distract from the crimes of Savile, Andrew and Chawwles, more of the royals, the Met, and about 30% of Westminster; and the best part?, it's all coming out!

@@ZI-WAN-KHANif memory serves, he suffered a major heart attack in 2000 and was left hospitalised for months. He made a bit of a comeback but retired in 2013, as one of your viewers mentions, due the travelling and touring schedule taking its toll.
