I couldn’t agree more. Also, Michael sat out almost 2 full years in his prime to play baseball. If he didn’t do that he almost certainly would have lead the Bulls to 8 championships in a row and he would have won 8 finals MVPs in a row (instead of 3 in a row, then 2 years off, then 3 more in a row). In addition, MJ later retired at 34, sat out three full years, then came back at 38 and still averaged 23 points. If he didn’t miss the 2 years above, plus the 3 “retired” years he would have the most total points all time, by far. As it stands he’s 5th all time despite sitting out 5 years!

Sitting out took something away from him each time. Prime MJ is as quick or quicker, as fast or faster, can jump higher, has all the moves, and has those huge hands. He's not losing to Kobe, although you could sell one hell of a pay per view to see that game played if you had a time machine. Kobe is basically MJ, just slightly...just very slightly, "not quite as good" across the board. But very close. Closest there has been.
