Phil LaMarr is one of the most prolific and versatile voice actors across all of TV, movies, and gaming. He’s played comedic characters on MadTV and cartoons like Hermes Conrad in Futurama, and dove deep into heroic roles like Virgil Hawkins in Static Shock, Samurai Jack, and of course, the DCAU Green Lantern John Stewart in Justice League and Justice League Unlimited.
From his beginnings in Pulp Fiction and Mad TV to his game debut as Vamp in Metal Gear Solid 2, Phil LaMarr embodies the very best of voice acting, and has become a distinguished voice actor in the entire voiceover field. Voice actors, behind the scenes, are the driving force behind your favorite animation, cartoons, videogames, superheroes and movie, but until recently, the voices have never shared the same spotlight as their live action, non cartoon counterparts. In this Phil LaMarr interview from New York Comic Con 2018, we talked with the actor about his entire career in what was one of the highlights of our NYCC 2018.
