I had a horrible day yesterday. As I laid my head down on my pillow with my heavy, aching heart wondering how I was ever going to sleep, this song came to my mind. I did not hear it recently for it to be stuck in my head. In fact I haven’t listened to Christian music in a very long time…. and it randomly came to my mind. I just rededicated my life to Christ last Tuesday, then my adopted dad died on Friday! He was 84 and had Cancer! He lived the Christian life right up to the end!

Not just because my name is Grace do I like this song. Not because of the singer's voice, or the beat. Listen to the words. As we, sinners, liars and failers and not doing what we're supposed to do, were chosen. To be God's people. And God knew we were going to fail and fall under expectations. It wasn't a "Buy one get one free" coupon. He did this because of love, because of grace. Worthy is the lamb who was slain; Jesus. He conquered the grave, He conquered death itself. No one has ever done that. And would you allow yourself to be nailed on a cross, and beaten and taunted and naked, with a crown of spiky thorns on top of your head just to make sure the people that did that to you didn't have to do that? No, because we're all human. I know I wouldn't want to forgive someone who tried to kill me and showed no remorse afterwards. Also, Jesus didn't even KNOW he was going to be resurrected. God told him what was going to happen, His son would die. That's it. Not, "oh, but don't worry, you'll wake up afterwards". And Jesus agreed without hesitation. How could we ever repay him? We can't. We can't not sin, or kill 1,000 sheep or forgive our worst enemy. Because, that's what grace is. Getting something even though you didn't deserve it at all. He did the IMPOSSIBLE. He did the INCREDIBLE. And he's still in power! Think of all of the great heroes, George Washington, Martin Luther King Jr., Susan B. Anthony. Sure, they did great things, changed history's course, but they didn't stay in power for eternity. They were created and died, like everyone. Jesus didn't do that. He didn't bail out. Which I think is amazing. And it's not "was amazing grace" or "used to be amazing grace". His LOVE for everyone is still alive, still present!

With out GOD we are nothing.

I struggle with Lust, when I'm close to God, my mind doesn't sexualize, but the temptation just builds and builds and eventually you make excuses to yourself and God. I'll go 2 weeks to a month without porn and I'd go back. I just recently did it, and a little bit ago I thought "I'm just gonna do it again, I might as well leave God alone." But I'm not going to do that, I'm going to worship God no matter what. If anyone else is struggling with porn and lust or any addiction, just know this. The more we try to catch onto it, the more we'll be able overcome it, this takes a long time, but the more we stay with God, even when we purposely sin, we must go to God, we don't have a choice, if we wanna get better, we must go to God, like a Child reaching for a parent after a punishment, so will we reach for Abba and learn from our mistakes. God Loves You, and there's nothing that can tear you away from him as long as you know he loves you and you love him.
