The Philadelphia Department of Prisons (PDP) completes a comprehensive intake and screening assessment on every individual admitted to their Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility within the first 4 hours of incarceration. This includes screening for screening for substance use (SUD) and opioid use disorders (OUD). However, during start of the COVID-19 pandemic, PDP was forced to implement new health and safety protocols for all staff and clients. The use of personal protective equipment became a regular practice. This video highlights these protocol changes and details PDP’s ability to continue serving and treating clients in its treatment program, many of whom are prescribed MAT and need regular dosing.
