I like this pick a lot. Being a Canadian living in Ontario (London in fact) and being dialed into CHL hockey … everyone has to realize a guy like Catton had his big WHL season in season 3 and Jett is in season 2. He’s the 5th youngest player in the draft and is only a couple weeks away from being in next year’s draft. Catton in his year 2 had a line of 55pts in 63gms and Jett in year 2 had a line of 74pts in 68gms. This is a good pick.

When the Flyers took the stage, I thought for sure they were taking Helenius. I would have bet my house on it. It’s a good thing I don’t gamble.

Helenius is horrible. Michael Hage is the right Pick for the Flyers. Luchanko and Helenius no.way

I hope this is how Jay O’Brien was suppose to end up going off the cuff from consensus. Kinda strange they didn’t just take Buium but hard to argue with acquiring more picks in a deeper draft.

A report came out that he has the same agent as Cutter G and the flyers weren’t willing to take chance that they wouldn’t be able to sign him.. idk if that’s true but it did come out..

@@korecorsey6646Daniel Brière as general manager I'm sorry that s not a right Man for his job. We lost Cutter Gauthier and now.make.a.big mistake with His first Pick! My man for a general manager job is Pat Brisson player agent. Has a big credibility then Kent Hughes in Montreal. Philly continue to turn around for a lot of years

I didn’t have a problem with this pick.the trade with Edmonton was my problem.to me you to get more than just there first next year being its basically the same pick.you are losing a year to develop that player.the pick is protected also if it’s a top 12 ,which means possibly losing two years of a players development.danny should have made them throw in another draft and if the pick has to wait two years another draft pick.i think he got fleeced on that trade

Underwhelmed. He's fine. Like him. But I really got excited for today thinking we would get some high end talent. I'm not sure this is it. I would love to be wrong though. I hope he is amazing.

I think he was a riser for a reason the flyers need a high speed guy that passes first to keep up with Michkov and that’s what they got this could really work, Briere has said again and again that they are going to take a big swing and are going to pick a guy that will fit their system and rebuild plans

The more I’ve watched footage, I immediately thought of Barzal myself. If this kid with how young he is now at 17 was in next years draft, he’d probably be a top 10 pick. Even some of the weaknesses he states here can be remedied by his speed and skating ability it sounds like. I like the pick.
