The outside of this Live Oak bowl turned fairly easily. The inside was a whole other story. Torture! Finished in shellac.

Love the end result. I had a plum tree in my front yard that I had to dig up because ants ate most of the hart out and took up residence in it. I hoped to turn the trunk but when I cut a blank from that it was all dirt nothing left to turn. I did a few small turning from some of the branches it’s a pretty wood. Enjoyed the video. Dan

What a gorgeous piece. I was about to shout in, just undercut the rim, it is to nice to cut more off. However, the final result is really great, will done Phil!

You undercut the rim and then sand it with that uneven edge. I'll wait here, Bruno! 😊

EXCELLENT Video, Phil. After watching you work so Professionally and Patiently I now know, at 81 years of age, I would never have made it in wood-turning. As beautiful as I could see that log was, I know it would have finished up on my Fire Log pile very early on. Well Done, Phil, Keep it up, I'll be happy to just sit and watch a Craftsman at work.
