The kariakoo market is going under renovation that's why the indoor part is closed and they are building an extension to it, the building that you saw being constructed. The other indoor market that the guy suggested is called kisutu market.

Mzungu; for your information Kariokoor burnt last year (caught fire last year 2021) and this is the reason is closed currently and is under renovation. After renovation completion it is going to be the best market in East Africa and Central, also there is another new market on its side being under construction currently, is going to be modern and bigger than kariokoo itself which will operate 24/7 throughout the year. So come back next year so you can enjoy the new market (Kariokoor).

The price was right for the 🌽. Usually they cut into 5 pieces you can buy for 200tsh if you want a smaller portion. But there is no way I can manage Kariakoo I am surprised you did it, too congested. Back then it was manageable but now it is impossible. So Kariakoo is where most wholesale stores and import goods starts there before being shipped to other areas of the city and across the country. The "market" under construction is a small portion that caught fire last year, but Kariakoo in totality is a huge and complex area you cannot finish by walking even when businesses are closed.

It's actually that whole area after u crossed the road from cbd(posta) is called kariakoo. It is the market district and is divided into streets according to the commodities sold there Example at the area after u crossed the road from cbd u will find banks as u move further, u will find electronics shops & stores, hardware stores at the adjacent street, car spare parts store at the nexst street, followed with the home accessories stores at the other street, clothes stores at the crazy part where u were, the next street shoes stores, when u cross the road at the other side of kariakoo u will find phone stores all the way up to China plaza, and finally at the area where the in door kariakoo market is, u will find food items shops & fruits, vegetables Also u should know that the marke is not just along the roads, the shops & stores starts from under ground of those buildings (towers) along the roads. U can actually pass from one building to the adjacent street building without following that straight roads like the way u were walking. That whole district (area) is called kariakoo, named after that indoor market.

Kariakoo is a selling and buying district, actually the whole area just after leaving CBD is kariakoo, kariakoo is the largest market probably in Africa many traders from Malawi, Zambia, DRC, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda (landlocked countries) come to buy from wholesalers and going back home for retailing, there's no any product you will miss in kariakoo with whatsoever quantity, kariakoo is the place where merchandise came through Dar es salaam port are unlocked and distribution point start to the rest of the country.

Sorry, is not that you were over charged while in TZ as foreigner, the case is like this; they undercharged the citizens to help them out like giving subsidy. The real price is the one the foreigners pay or are charged and the lesser price for locals is like selling for less profit to help locals.

The best time to expose the fish market is early in the morning the time fishing boats are docking after the whole night of fishing at the deep sea, there are you will get chance to see how they unloading and selling, auctions, preparations and get to see big catch of the day, apparently what you explored isn't exactly ferry fish market but vendors at the fish market gate, there's very huge fish market down there but you were late and it's Sunday most people go to church and other take a weekend break, the same to kariakoo most traders have closed businesses because it's Sunday, I think you even failed to enter museum because it's not working day!

Hi Phil, Just some feedback. I noticed your camera is attempting to reduce blur, most likely through a built in motion interpolation mechanism to smoothen the fast sweeping movements you are making. The problem with smoothing is that it causes nausea in some people. I can barely watch without experiencing motion sickness , especially if the video is played at more than 1.5x speed. I have watched some of your other videos you made with Britney in Africa without any problems. Maybe you changed some settings or refresh rate, or it's a different camera. You could get a gimbal to stabilize your camera and also minimize the switching between POV and reverse POV when vlogging.
