This is Freddie's last video. It came out in May 91 and Freddie passed in Nov.

The band's manager arranged an animated video because of Freddie's seriously bad condition, but Freddie didn't want to say goodbye to the world as a pencil drawing. He wore cashmere underwear because he was always very cold due to the high weight loss, but he also wore the painted waistcote which is decorated with the images of his beloved cats, he loved them as his babies. Freddie had an extremely strong personality, he never regretted anything, he was never complaining about anything, he was living for the music. His illness could break him very late only, he gave up the fight when he could no longer sing, after Mother Love which he couldn't finish.

Freddie's voice was wonderful right until the end. He was soooo sick when this video was made. This was one of the last ones made and that final, "I love you" and sad look into the camera, imho, was indeed a beautiful goodbye to us. I can't watch this video without choking up. The cat silk waistcoat was handmade by a friend and given to Freddie for Xmas in 1990! This song was released on Freddie’s birthday September 5, 1991 … Freddie passed away November 24, 1991. Written by and about Roger and his wife and children during his career in the group, and yes I think it's the last video but they filmed quite a few in colour and black and white over the years, this isn't the last time Fred recorded anything, he carried on until a few weeks before he passed away, and said you can do anything with my music and image just don't make me boring

This was literally shot months before Freddie Mercury died and was his goodbye to all of Queen's fans. He was dying here and in the final stage of AIDS that's why his appearance looks so different than normal. When he looks into the camera at the end and says "I still love you!" it gets me every single time. We still love him! Great reactions here.

This was recorded in May 1991. As you can see, Freddie was in very poor health. To the point he was very skinny, and had to wear cashmere clothes underneath the shirt because he got cold, even under those hot lights and his skin could not bear to be touched by clothing. He wore lots of make up to cover his poor skin and the Kaposi sarcomas. He could barely stand at this point. After this was recorded, Freddie then layer down lyrics to Mother Love. He would sing it 3 timed so they had recordings. He knew he did not have long left. Brian said he would say just give me things to sing, I will sing it and you can do what you want with it when I'm gone. Freddie did two verses...Brian said he would sit at the mixing desk and throw down a vodka and sing it from there. Freddie unfortunately did not sing the last verse, he said he had to go and would be back to finish it. He never made it back. He went back to Garden Lodge, his home around September or October time and stopped taking his medication, knowing he was now going to die within a matter of weeks. Freddie was ready to die, he could no longer sing. Singing was Freddie's life and passion. He hung on until he could no longer sing. A few years later, Brian, Roger and John revisited the songs, which became the Posthumous Made In Heaven album. Brian sung the last verse to Mother Love. Freddie is very much missed. His music that could have been is missed. RIP Freddie.

This was the last live video with Freddie - but they went on making music in the studio in germany I think - there was no press to disturbe . I am not sure of the chronology . He never lost his singing voice. His last song was 'motherlove' He managed the 2 verses - and had to go - with intension of returning . He never did - and Brian sang tha last verse.

Only the Good Die Young is the last Queen song. John did not perform after this. It is a tribute to Freddie after his death.

The last song he co-wrote and recorded was the day before his death called Mother Love. He got tired before the last verse was completed so Brian May sang the last part. Freddie died the next day. I’m glad people can still hear his recordings but it is such a loss as their live performances were gone without Freddie’s energy and charisma. Miss him. Sad for the kids who didn’t get to see these four geniuses at their peak. True musical artists. 😢.

Yes, Freddie was very sick at this point, thin and nearly unable to stand. One of his feet had nearly rotted away. He was so cold that he wore layers of clothing and also to hide how thin he actually was. His voice is so beautiful in this song which was originally written by Roger about watching his children grow up but since it was recorded so close to the end for Freddie, many people thought it was more about him, and Freddie used it as his final opportunity to say goodbye to his loyal followers and mates. In a way, it does lend to the whole idea of painting Freddie's life and the years the band spent together. Also, the band members were very aware of the fact that they would be losing their brother very soon, so there is a good chance that some of that came through in Roger's writing as well, the lyrics so easily lending to either theme.

This was the last video that Freddie did and he was very ill. You notice he just stands there (very unlike the usual Freddie). There was actually a hidden stand that helped support him during the filming because he was so weak. It was very brave of him to do it but he wanted to say goodbye to his fans. His make-up seems like an effort to both cover up and reveal his disease, a necessary cosmetic effort due to his increasingly gaunt appearance and skin problems due to his suffering deterioration from symptoms associated with AIDS. The video also has a filter over it, to help the optics of his appearance.
