Philip Bailey is a R&B, soul, gospel and funk singer, songwriter and percussionist, best known as an early member and one of the two lead singers (along with group founder Maurice White) of the band Earth, Wind & Fire. Noted for his four-octave vocal range and distinctive falsetto register, Bailey has won seven Grammy Awards. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame as a member of Earth, Wind & Fire. Bailey was also inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame for his work with the band.
Bailey has released several solo albums. Chinese Wall from 1984, which received a Grammy Award nomination for Best R&B Vocal Performance, Male, included the international hit, "Easy Lover", a duet with Phil Collins

Its great that Philip explains that Maurice specifically wanted his music to be positive - he hit the target 100% and the world should be lucky. If only more music was as positive as EWF and as groovin'. Love his quote "Don't let a lyric get in the way of a groove"

❤❤❤❤ Miss the times these songs came out. Lots of clubs for dancing. Sad that there's no dance clubs like in the 70s.

When I joined The Army I had never been away from my family. I end up spending over 5 lonely, homesick years but Earth Wind and Fires music literally got me through. I played the horn, Tuba, baritone and trombone since the 6 grade. My buddies and I had our own band. We played at a couple of talent shows and wedding receptions. We used to play "Shining Star" and "That's the way of The World". In my opinion EWF was the GREATEST band EVER. Maurice White was an "Einstein" level, musical genius and was able to not only attract other greats but was also able to get them to "see" his vision.

Philip Bailey is truly genuine in everyway a gifted Genius. Earth Wind & Fire is legendary in every category of music. Maurice 's vision is truly a gift that 8:13 he shared with us. The music, even those beautiful illustrated album covers. That wht inspired me to be an illustrator. I wish l could illustrate Earth Wind &Fire's latest albums. Oh by the way maybe l wish l can tell Philip Bailey!!! Thank you Mr. Philip Bailey and the EWF for the great music you've given us. 🎶 🎵 😊
