Amen Pastor! That’s exactly right! It’s mostly “poor me, poor me “ for Heaven forbid, nobody will feel sorry for us anymore if we get over the past! It’s always our narcissist self that govern our life if we let it. Thank God for Jesus, He paid it all as we trust in Him 100% after we repent and accept Him as our Personal Saviour of our lives. We just need to forgive our parents for whatever traumatic experience we had from them and let the Lord take care of it... No excuses for our addictions. Just take responsibilities of our mistakes and repent , Let go and let God so that He can use us for His service. When we do that... just enjoy all the blessings He brings to our lives! Thank you Jesus!

"Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." I, Annelies Bakker, declare these words to be truth in my life and the body ofChrist from now on and all days, loosening the word of philippians 3:13 in the name and blood of Jesus Christ: amen.

What a powerful teaching. I have been watching it repeatedly. Focus on the future not past failures and hurts. Focus on the finish. Fix your focus on what has been attained and what will be attained. Focus on the future. Lean into the future. This is why the Proverbs 31 woman has no fear when she thinks of the future. As a Jamaican that race example is perfect. This is where we dominate and I can relate. Thank you, Pastor Paul. God bless you.

Lol sometimes I hear voice of Rex in toy story that pastor Paul has and I get off track with focussing on sermon. Pastor Paul adorable. (Sometimes he also sounds like scooby doo as well in other sermons).

I have a question if I may? I have been encouraged to speak about my past because although I tried so hard to give it all to the Lord, it's left some deep scars. In part of moving forward, I've needed help and healing from trusted members of the Church and professionals to make sense of it all. I've found it helpful so far although so uncomfortable. So is there a place for this kind of thing as it is not about mulling over the past but wanting light and truth to be spoke n into brokenness rather than burying it
