We had a 3-hr layover in Manila at the time and then we took a connecting PAL flight to Singapore at about 9:45 am. When we departed Manila for Singapore, our A-321 plane was immediately behind the inaugural UA flight from MNL to SFO. for takeoff. In fact, we saw it took off since we were on standby right behind it. I saw a few plane spotting videos of that inaugural flight from MNL to SFO and I saw our PAL plane right behind the UA plane. Pretty neat! :)

Thank you for watching our video! They do have the new business class on their A350-900 aircrafts. More modern design but PAL packed the Business Class section with a lot more seats so it will be a little crowded. We prefer the current Business Class because the cabin is a lot roomier with less seats.

@@danilobadua7775 I haven’t flown UA long haul so I can’t compare. But UA has more cabin options (economy, economy plus, and economy premium in addition to business class). But the overall onboard service on my PAL flight was excellent.

Thank you. I remember on my last flight to the Philippines in 2006 aboard PAL, it was a huge 747-400. The plane was full (as always), it was also a back up to our original scheduled flight out of San Francisco International (SFO). The original flight was cancelled due to mechanical issues. We had to take the next day's flight from a plane diverted from LAX. Though we were delayed, we weren't angry. The food and service made up for the delay. Ang bango at ang sarap ng food! Just reminiscing it now makes me hungry. Lol 😆 . Thanks for the vlog.

Thank you for watching our video. We have flown PAL several times to Manila over the years, but this is the first time we've flown in Business Class. Sometimes we have to try the finest things in life because life is short. Honestly, I can tell you from our recent experience that it's all worth it. The long flight is more comfortable, more tolerable, roomier, more relaxing, onboard service is more personal, quieter surroundings since Business Class section is small with less passengers around you, food is awesome, more food and drink options, fine dining experience, check-ins are much quicker and more efficient, priority boarding, priority luggages, extra luggage weight limits, exclusive use of the Business Class lounges both in LAX and in Manila, and the overall experience was truly amazing! PAL Business Class is truly a great value! In economy class, we would be lucky to get 2 hours of sleep throughout the flight, and maybe 20-30 minutes at a time. In contrast, we were able to get about 5-6 hours of uninterrupted sleep in business class because the seats lie flat and turns into a bed. We arrived in Manila without a jet lag and felt more refreshed than ever before. Based on that experience, we don't believe we will ever fly Economy Class again to Manila and back. You should try Business Class on your next trip. It's a totally different experience and in my opinion it's worth it! :)

Great to know that you had a positive experience and I will keep it in mind, yes the perks sound nice not sure the extra 4 thousand dollars are worth it cause sometimes i get lucky and buy the seat next to me in economy the day before the flight. That has happened 2 times already and it makes the flight more tolerable, not as good as your seat but better than just having one seat.@@GilCarolAdventures

Oh I’m excited for you Chuck. Flying business class is worth it in my opinion especially for long haul flights. LAX to Manila is a 15-hr flight. I know what you mean when you only sleep about 30 mins at a time. Been there done that! On this flight, my wife and I were able to sleep for about 5 hrs straight without interruption. The seat turns into a full bed so that’s nice. The current business class seats on PAL’s B777-300ER are somewhat outdated but they’re very comfortable and very roomy. We didn’t drink alcohol so we didn’t ask for any, but they serve them. You don’t pay anything in business class. By next year, PAL may be using their new A350-1000s on the U.S. routes so they will have better business class products. Thanks for watching my video. 😊

I haven’t flown on their A350 yet but the old business class on their B777-300ER is much roomier based on the photos and videos I have seen of the A350. The noise level on their B777-300ER is pretty quiet .

Thank you for watching our video. PAL Business Class was worth it for us. Yes, it’s pricey but still costs much less than other Airlines’ business class. We were able to get 5-6 hrs of continuous sleep on this flight and arrived Manila refreshed and no jet lag, unlike in Economy Class. The use of the Lounge at LAX and Manila are free for Business Class passengers. The key to enjoying your flight is not to have too much expectations. Many people expect to be treated like kings and queens in Business Class and then they get disappointed. We just wanted to travel more comfortably and that’s the key. You also get priority boarding and priority luggage handling. So when you arrive in Manila, your luggages will come out first. You also get additional luggage weight allowance. 70 lbs each instead of 50 lbs. Also, please watch our return trip video that I posted yesterday from Manila to LAX, also in Business Class. Thank you and I hope you enjoy your PAL flight like we did! Just don’t expect too much and you’ll be just fine.

All food and drinks are included in business class throughout the flight. We didn’t have to pay extra.

The new BC seats on their A350s (used on the Manila-New York route) appear to be more modern, more luxurious, and more private, but I’m not sure about the comfort level since I haven’t flown on their A350s. @@GilCarolAdventures PAL only intends to fly to London which is not part of the Schengen Area most of my European travels are in the Nordic states especially in Norway. For PAL it's a great disservice to Filipinos being left out in Europe since European Airlines have ceased flying to the Philippines due mainly to unfavorable playing field and too much favoritism on their part.

@@dennis12dec I hear ya! PAL should really explore that Nordic route. Maybe they believe it’s not a profitable route. I think the London route was a bust for PAL so they discontinued.

@@GilCarolAdventures I used to fly with Lufthansa during my past travels to Europe until they stopped in 2003 many of my German friends who want to visit the Philippines but it's a hassle as there's no direct connection to our country they ended up in Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore instead of coming to the Philippines.

PAL has some of the best pilots in the industry the landings are always flawless from my experience, and they bought new planes which will arrive next year or soon after.

@@dmanmorales7385 I agree. Their new Airbus A350-1000s will arrive around the last quarter of 2025. Those will be used for LAX and SFO flights. That should be a much-needed upgrades to their existing fleet.

Thank you for watching! Yes, I agree with you 100% that PAL's business class seats are outdated. But, have you tried them? I can tell you that we had VERY COMFORTABLE flights, both outbound and inbound because we had so much space! Check out our return business class flight from MNL to LAX. Same story! As you probably know, our flight from LAX to MNL was 14+ hours in the dark and we didn't see daylight until we landed. I can honestly tell you that my wife and I were able to get non-interrupted sleep for about 6 hours from LAX. We arrived MNL fully refreshed with no jet lag, which is something that we could never do in Economy Class. So was it worth it? For us, that's a BIG yes! But most importantly, it was the best business class value for our dollar. At the time I booked our flights, PAL's business class was about $2K cheaper than its competitors. We weren't looking for the best and modern seat design, but we booked it for its value and comfort. We got both with PAL. What more can you ask for? We would do it again!

However, I booked PAL Business Class for convenience, affordability, comfort, onboard service, food options, flight schedule, and overall value! Other airlines' Business Class to Manila cost about $2K more with more modern seats that you like. You are absolutely correct that PAL's Business Class seats are so outdated, but have you flown on it? You should try it for yourself! I can tell you that those outdated seats are very comfortable, very spacious, and more important, they are functional. We had everything we need for a wonderful flight experience. We slept for about 6 hours straight without interruption, and we arrived in Manila fully freshed with no jet lag. The onboard service with the heart of the Filipino was a big BONUS! But I respect your opinion!

@@GilCarolAdventures Yes, I could have booked with another modern newer airline but you are right that it would have cost around 2K more and that 2K goes a long way in the Philippines :). Just a side note, years ago I booked a first class ticket from LAX to MNL on a 747. There was a young lady seated next to me and there were some commotion regarding her. Not sure what it was but the two of us were the first one out and the first one to get our luggage. I hardly talk to her and later on found out she was Lea Salonga. LOL

@@emelio7995 lol PAL domestic isn't even considered a premium in the Philippines especially since they mix in PAL express flights into their scheduling. At that point you're just paying a premium for a low cost airline. Infamous for delays and overbooking as well.

philippine airlines boeing 777 is almost 10 years old expect some damages on some parts of the plane but what i agree with you is the price and service

@@AlexAvation Thanks for watching my video. PAL's first B777 was delivered in 2009 so that jet is about 15 years old. The A350-1000s are replacing their 777s starting in late 2025.
