Competent crew and weapons & missiles are badly needed ciws, vls with missiles. Because if you confront an enemy loaded frigate you will be loss if run out of missiles. 1 anti ship missiles can submerge a frigate if you run out of anti missile missile or ciws.

That’s exactly is the mission for it! Coastal and EEZ defense. The next version of it the HHI 3100 is a lot bigger and fitted with a lot more weapons! But they call that one corvette. 😂😂

They Philippine Navy leadership needs to complete the vertical launch system with corresponding missiles and install a close in weapon system at the back of these frigates to make them really capable. In connection with these the upcoming 6 OPV being built in South Korea should also have Surface to Air Missile and Anti-Ship Missile installed to make them really capable. There is no point having warships with incomplete weaponry.

This ship will be fully equipped soon and it is not a display but has capability to do his mission within 200 nautical missiles with the economic Zone. I heard that the anti-ships missiles are equipped and only 3 countries have this and those are Korea, Columbia and the Philippines has the Modern Anti ship missiles and i heard that they will receive soon the Bramos Cruise missiles to protect those ships from land to launch the bramos as the ship do the navigation in sea to be thier guide to hit the target i guess. The TASS (Towed Array Sonar System) will be an issue for the upgrade as the module placement is awkward as per the design of HHI. I hope they plan on using a USV with TASS instead of mounting it directly with the ship.

awkward as per the design of HHI? lol HHI is the world's no.1 shipbuilder and has built various battle ships, submarines and even AEGIS destroyers including Sejong The Great class destroyers being considered as the world's most advanced and powerful AEGIS destroyer. The Incheon class frigate(Jose Rizal & Antonio Luna) was originally designed for relatively easy missions with a low budget for the Korean Navy. It's the Philippines Navy that chose and purchased them even at a lower price than the Korean Navy paid. The problem is that Filipinos always want a Mercedes with money worth a cheapest car. If you can pay, you can get whatever in the way you want.

@@jclulu3942 I agree. We are a bit demanding for a cheap price. From what I read in the news outlets and legit sources, the ship was intervened by Bong Go during the final process of weapons and sensors selection. HHI has had mishaps. They were reported a couple of times in SoKor for their corruption. HHI should have been honest to the Navy even if it's cheap. They should have told us that they were gonna build a limited capability ship.

@@jclulu3942 The original design was at the aft of the ship. Changes were made and it is now in the forward near the anchor room which is akward. That is were the mission module and power supply for the TASS is located. Can't complain about the limited budget, but the design proposal was not followed and changes were made without prior notice even if the modules are FFBNW. It means that the design was appropriate with the budget allocated. Not a Mercedes benz but yeah its a Hyundai. Nothing can be changed about it. Hopefully the 2 incoming Miguel Malvar Class next year is more capable. It has been launched, just waiting for the delivery (still no TASS).

@@lionheart9795 You must be joking. while Duterte followed through with the H1 and some H2 projects. He is rquired by law to fund these and approve the procurment. Without the law, we will be at the mercy of his whimsical inuendos. Yes, Duterte's credit is increasing the paychecks of soldiers but that created a lot of backlash with AFPSLAI as now the Marcos admin understands that they cannot fund the full pension of these soldiers because of the stagerring increase they received from the previous admin. So this will become a downward spiral of fiscal rebalancing of AFPSLAI pension that might affect AFP's annual budget and modernizaion and worse may lead to anak ng loans again which increases government debt and budget deficits. My relatives are reaping the benefits of the increased salary and pension but down the line, similar to networking. Future pensions will dry up. Not a well thougth out kind gesture by your idol. You will see in the coming days, months and years. AFP bases being converted to prime real estates just to fund these pensions.

Better prioritize ciws & another quadruple launcher. Then tass, torbuster torp hardkill & cesm Better the additional 4 cruise missiles be the light, small, stealthy Seabreaker or NSM If JR's budget still delayed, the upcoming hdf3100 has 4 quad-launchers, so how about 2 of those be redirected to JR-class since their midships are open, displaying the simple imposing looks of a 4-round slanted launchers. The covered midships of hdf3100 are much better but doesn't display the imposing looks of today's quad-launchers, so better prioritize JR-class. Then JR's assumed delayed budget for quad-launchers redirected to hdf3100. I'm NO fan of current AShCMs tho but can't deny their current formidable power (& imposing looks hehe)

The United States is in the process of Decommissioning it’s USS FREEDOM class of Littoral Combat Ships because of costs related to its maintenance and upkeep. The ships are fairly new but have a few problems. The Philippines could probably maintain these ships in a more cost effective manner than the United States can. The Philippines should ask for these ships. It seems to me that donating them to the Philippines is a whole lot better than putting them in the “Reserve Fleet”. In the reserve fleet we still have to pay to maintain them. If we donate them to the Philippines then the Philippines will be maintaining them instead. The Philippines should ask for the USNS SPEARHEAD Class of Expeditionary Fast Transport ships like USNS MILINOCKET (T-EPF-3) while they are at it. They have similar problems with cracks in their hulls above the waterline near the exhaust. I don’t think the aluminum likes the heat very much and it certainly doesn’t like a high sea state. In any case I think the Philippines can maintain these ships in a cheaper and more cost effective manner than the United States Navy can.

I think BRP Antonio Luna doesn't have the capacity or space to install a towed array sonar. The Simbad RC is only good at targeting helicopters or low flying drones. These ship can be considered an offshore patrol vessel because of it's limited combat range. Despite that I'm still proud to our Philippine Navy. Hopefully the government upgrades its ffbnw weapons and sensors to fully utilize it's capability.

It's because these are meant to be a deterrent. It's also the main reason why you we know more about the equipment of the Western aligned countries. If your enemy decides not to attack because you have broadcasted your weapons, then that't the best use of money. The best military equipment are those that you don't have to use at all.

What capabilities? Everything they featured here can be found with a simple Google search. You’re worried about exposing that ship’s capabilities when two other videos of much more advanced warships were featured a week ago.
