It's hard to explain... I don't know why, but you see the difference in me on my vlog, when I vlog about something, and when i vlog about the Philippines??? I'm just shining when I vlog about Filipinos or Philippines...
I just have completely different vibes and energy!
I think, maybe it's because me in Europe and me in the Philippines is 2 different persons. In the Philippines I'm full of energy, full of enthusiasm. I have so many energy like nowhere in the world, I didn't even know before Philippines that I could be like this, because in Germany my favorite thing what to do is sleep. I could sleep all day and night , apathy and depression that's my normal condition... In the Philippines I met another Jelena. And I loved her so much.. she is like best version of myself. I need save her and bring back to the place where is so good for her soul 🥹
of course I'm starving for the tasty Filipino food, but much more I'm starving for that Filipino version of me, what i discovered only in the Philippines 🇵🇭

Chicago is very well known, for being a windy city so yeah your right chicago is a windy city.. Glad to see you found a filipino restaurant there.. seeing you how happy & excited you are going inside to the filipino store in chicago and singing along with the tagalog song, naming some filipino foods, hearing you speak some tagalog & sing a few lines from tagalog song makes me smile.. but, what so very special about this video is seeing you reunited with your kids again & i can see them how very happy and excited they are running towards you and hug you as they see you again, that is so sweet.. I remember my first dinner at Max's -- I had just graduated Grade School -- and soon to enter High School. I was Class Salutatorian -- my Dad was so proud and wanted to celebrate. So the whole family went to Max's. I had the famous 1/2 Fried Chicken -- cost was Php 2.50! That was 70 years ago.

Ms. Jalena sinigang na bangus is sinigang na milkfish. Bangus is what we called in the Philippines but in english vocabulary is milk fish 😊

#1 rule: The first question you ask a Filipino outside the PI is "What part of the PI are you from?" then you decide what language you will both speak to each other. That's how you get them to talk to you. Btw lots of Filipinos from Davao in Chicago

Chicago was my home for 10 years in the 70’s. I was in my teens. To see it now through your eyes is refreshing. I have to visit the Filipino Village when I visit there.
