I am a Filipina living here in the USA and had been in Jerusalem ( wailing wall, Temple Mount, Mt of Olives, Gethsemane, etc); Capernauum, Sea of Galilee, Jordan River; Bethlehem, Nazareth (West Bank) , Dead Sea, Masada, etc. and very blessed with the experience! 🙏🙏🙏❤️ We are Seventh-Day Adventist Christians and we keep the 7th day Sabbath (Saturday) holy just like In Israel as part of the 10 Commandments (Exodus 20:11) and we only eat the clean foods; and avoid the unclean meats ( like pork, scavenger creatures like crabs, shrimps, etc which are very high in cholesterol) as found in Leviticus 11 and God said to be not good for good health due to high fat /cholesterol and considered by God as unfit to eat, for our ultimate health and happiness and minimize sickness and ill-health but we believe in Jesus Christ as the Messiah all foretold in the book of Isaiah (Isaiah 53:5; Isa 9:6; www.biblestudytools.com/bible-study/topical-studies/times-the-old-testament-predicts-jesus-birth-and-death.html. You may like to visit a Filipino Seventh-Day Adventist Church and you’ll be very much welcomed as well. 😁🙏❤️

Manuel L. Quezon I heard actually wanted Israelites to occupy the whole of Mindanao. He wanted a million Jews to live there. He initially wanted 30,000 families. But only 10,000 was issued, eventually only 1,200 actually arrived. So proud hearing we are the only country who accommodated you guys. Philippines loves Israel.

@@hangten1904 I think Muslim Filipinos are much better than the Palestinians in Gaza. The ones in Gaza has been infiltrated by terrorist Muslims or Jihadists. Mindanao is a big island, actually the Muslim part is only in the southern most part. Most if it, maybe 80% of the whole island is still Christian Filipinos

Hello Sir Tal. You have noticed we are diversed in almost all areas in life. You also noticed you didn’t have a hard time starting a life in our country. It’s because throughout centuries of different conquerors that came and have gone, they left something (good or bad) that made us who we are as a country and as Pilipinos. We learned to accept and respect our diversities and those included our differences in religious beliefs, ethnicities, gender (slow but surely), colors (although most preferred their skin white but we accept all colors) etc. When we accepted Jews from different parts of the world (Europe,Russia,China etc) we did not accept them for their religion but because they are humans like us and they needed a place they can call home (at least temporarily). But they were allowed to practice their belief and were never converted to Catholicism. We had also accepted Vietnamese and ppl from Laos during Vietnam war. They came by boats unannounced. Will we turn them away? No. They were accepted in spite of the fact that we’re one of the countries who doesn’t qualify to accept refugees. But there shouldn’t be qualification needed to help ppl in need. So, most were sent later to other different countries and some are still in the Philippines. Recently, due to war in Israel, some Pilipinos need to go home. Among them, some married to Palestinians. We also have Syrians because of Syrian war. My point: I need to ask from you to PLEASE, PLEASE respect all the religious beliefs in my country and stop talking about conversion. You were accepted and will be accepted for who your are even in our Muslim communities because they are Pilipinos. Give us the same courtesy. You are in my country and you must accept and respect everyone without talk of coversion. You might unknowingly caused animosity among us Pilipinos. Enjoy your stay in our country. Soak in the beauty, hospitality, generosity, kindness, warmth bestowed to you. Enjoy our diversities and learn that, that’s how to live in peace among people from different walks of life in just one country. Acceptance and respect. Thank you for visiting our country. 😊👍🏼✌🏼

It's ironic that when I was born and raised in the Philippines, our educational system (from elementary, highschool and college) never mentioned this part of history. Only now that I'm living in the United States that I learn about the open door policy. Do you think I should create a video channel about what the educational system omitted but are important part of Philippine history? For example, it was discovered in the Vatican archives that _OPHIR_ was the original name of the Philippines before it was changed to its current name just to honor King Philip. What do you think?

I studied world History and church history and this is one of my favorite topics during my college years. The story about the Jewish diaspora where the Jewish people were kicked out from their own country/homeland and exiled in different parts of the world and the most heartwarming part is the story about them being taken cared and accepted here in the Philippines. The Bichara's from bicol are one of those Jewish people and have become part of the Bicol history. They became involved not just in the daily lives of Bicolanos. They were in the politics, they own the largest Cinema Houses in Bicol. There was also Maribeth Bichara (used to be with ABS CBN) and her sister (I forgot her name) was a talented choreographer/dancer (if I'm not mistaken).
