To those people saying that taekwondo is useless in real fights HAHAHAHAHAHAHA do you think that we only use our legs? We use hands too, specially to those who learned the ITF Taekwondo, and in street fights there are no rules we can kick where ever we want

This was actually not a bad match. People will never stop complaining.

We never fight Taekwondo like that in the 60's in Viet-Nam. We need to see more kickings such as side kicks, thrust kicks, reverse kicks and flying kicks. I know, nowadays the new rules were applied to be safer during trainings. However, if it is a martial art then its extreme traditional technique must be kept to be comparable with other kind of martial arts. Swinging the legs just like a snake just try to hit some designated points to get scores, it makes this Taekwondo no longer be called "martial art". Taekwondo used to be one of deadly martial arts and I am so proud to be a Black Belt with 17 years in training. Let's make Taekwondo more exciting..... !!!

Alcantara is my friend in highschool. He used to jog from San Miguel to Tandag City back-and-forth and that takes 1hour via motorcycle. Imagine that... And the heat is almost 32°C everyday.

Y'all keep complaining about how new taekondow is not as good as the old school but new taekondow is alot safer beacuse old school was alot violent as there were even deaths so of course they had to change some rules!! Also i find this fight pretty good, and trust me when i say that these kicks may look like nothing but they hurt as hell!!

Okay so there are a lot of comments about how old taekwando is better than the new style. In my opinion, I still respect it for what it is. Traditional taekwando looks like it really hurts and people don’t know how dangerous it could be. I do prefer to watch videos on the old style but it looks like it hurts way more to get hit. Can’t we just respect what we have for now and be happy these guys aren’t killing eachother with their kicks?

Hmm looks like Mr. Hong still has some work to do at TKD headquarters to get TKD back to what it was. The recent rule changes seems to have little effect on the fighting style that is prevalent and ingrained today.

I like real Taekwondo not games, look like they are touching each other with feet rather than kicking. Not practical. I used to train TKD I love its flexibility and agility, but not its modern games.

You know guys, when tkd fighter one kicks you before you take your stance from the sitting position instead of scoring hits, you realize the difference between sport and real fight. Of course, they are not hitting at full power because they don't want to hurt each other

I have been seeing a lot of this comment of they want old taekwondo back.. And as much as i agree, i also agree with the rules nowadays. My cousin died of a TaeKwondo kick after a brain damage in a competition match and no one even remembers him except a few friends and our family (I was gonna say Joe Rogan must have been the one, but that match was long before my cousin's match). So i believe there are others like him too and i want to know why no one mentions their deaths and no news in the past! It's a dangerous sport since it's only kicking and kicks are a lot stronger than punches!

Old Taekwondo was only based on Uninamous Wins. Modern Taekwondo prefers to score for winning which actually makes an athlete to be more soft when it comes into real fights 😅

Di na kasi manual scoring ngayon kaya sinasabi nyong boring .. patalinuhan na maglaro ngayon di tulad nung dati na habulan talaga ng points kaya sunod sunod ang sipa, sensor ang gamit ngayon eh dati pag tumunog yung armour mo score na.
