I typically shave every 2 days for work. Sometimes when I have time off, I’ll go 5-7 days without shaving. I use this to take down that 5-7 beard growth before wet shaving with my safety razor, love it. Also use it for body grooming. Amazing product.

Very handy tool for a dry shaver. If you have a few days growth you can use this to take the heavy off before using an electric shaver. Good way of shaving for men who have sensitive skin or an ingrown hair problem.

This goes smooth even after 2 weeks of hair growth in my experience. I think it works best *dry* on hair 1-2 weeks old, and the trimmer settings is obviously a plus. You can use a few precise, gentle strokes against the grain to get a really close shave, even without trimmer attachments. For hair that is 3 days old and less it doesn't work as well, so if you need to shave every day/every other day for work then go with the braun series 9/phillips 9000. These aren't so good for persistent hairs so you can do the finishing touches with the oneblade, but remember to clean the shaver after use and to use gentle strokes - even with an electric razor - to prevent ingrown hairs and irritation.

I’ve personally invested heavily financially and practically in shaving. Here’s what I’ve found based on years of experience looking for shave I want. (I want the smoothest quick shave without getting ingrown hairs or irritation.) 1) Annually, with daily shaving, the Oneblade will cost the same as buying the Braun Series 9 with cleaning cartridges replacing the cleaning cartridge solution every 19 cycles (I took over two weeks to count exactly how many cycles until the light turns on.) 2) The Philips Norelco OneBlade doesn’t provide the closest shave when “close” is defined by the length of hair protruding from the skin. However, “smoothness” I have found the OneBlade can provide (with extra work) a shave nearly as smooth as a Double Edge Safety Razor. This is all from my experience, not the opinions of others. 3) Using Leftric Shave or another electric pre-shave will make this even smoother. If your goal is the closest shave, the Gillette Fusion 5 should be the winner because it will cut under the skin, but that’s a problem. Cutting under the skin produces ingrown hairs. Don’t get me wrong, the experience of taking a warm shower followed by shaving against the grain with a new Gillette Fusion 5 ProGlide using the Gillette Fusion ProGlide Sensitive 2 in 1 Shave Gel is AMAZING. (Assuming you didn’t break out in ingrowns the next day.) But you know, like I do, that those sharp, amazing shave experiences don’t last very long on those blades. In my experience, the way to get an oil-covered baby butt dish soap lathered slip and slide smooth shave is using a double-edge safety razor. The best part is you don’t get breakouts. It takes time to learn, but I go against the grain nearly everywhere on its face every time I shave and am never disappointed by blade performance. Double edge safety razors are much sharper, profoundly cheaper, and easy to learn.

Thanks for all the work you put into this video. You even included time stamps! You helped me decide to buy the OneBlade. I had an electric shaver that broke & I bought a new one for about 50 bucks. That was awful & I had to trade it in for one that was about $70. That was not much better. I tried cartridge razors, but I still could not get a good shave. Blah, blah, blah. The OneBlade may not shave as close as a safety razor, but it is almost perfect for me. Thanks for your help!

The Phillips One Blade as a face shaver doesn't get a good grade in my opinion for peeps looking for a bbs shave. However, as a head shaver for those who don't always want to use a razor on the head and don't mind the 1 to 2 day stubble feel will love it. As a body groomer, it works well too.

I have this razor, however I made the switch to double edge last week. I still use it as a trimmer but no longer as my primary shave device. The reason? Cartridge replacements don't last long and they're expensive. They come in packs of two for almost thirty dollars MSRP. After a couple of shaves, they're pretty blunt and I would stretch them to last almost six months. I switched to double edge and I'm just happy to be able to shave closely with a new blade every week for little money. I reached my regular efficiency in a week, and I find double edge a more comfortable and soothing shave than the OneBlade.

Congratulations on your patience! I am sure that you would toss this product, but it is obviously a paid ad. A man who used to get rid of a 5-day beard in one stroke had to play with this toy of the razor. Hahaha. Of course, you won't sell this piece of garbage, you leave it to amazon and you sell good stuff only.

It was NOT a paid ad, and I purchased it myself. Like I said, I wanted to try it. I think it's an honest unbiased review. I like to let the product speak for itself, and I think it did in this instance.

@@geofatboy Oh, it was so sad to watch how you mutilate your face. : ) You were trying and trying to make this video normal, but it can be seen from the Moon that it doesn't work. In the end, you used your good old razor to make a finish like a man. Not to have a half-shaved face. I know this kind of toys, they are nothing but the way to throw your money and nothing else. They are worse even than cartridge razors.

I have one of these and they use it for trimming my goatee. I use a DE for shaving… Basically the one blade is an overpriced trimmer. It’s nice that you can replace the blade when they are dull, but quite expensive… It’s not very efficient. I use my hair buzzer to get most of my goatee trimming done and then finish up with the one blade. The pro is that you can change the blade when you are dull. And the pro is that you can’t cut yourself because of the design. Would I buy one again? Definitely not! Phillips has a good name but I am not happy with this product… Although I have used it for several years and still do. I suppose they are popular on the market because the average Joe does not know why he gets irritation from cartridge razors. Using this to shave without any attachments would be reasonably close and no irritation or expertise.

In my opinion even as a trimmer-Andis and Wahl trimmers are hands down better than this one.
