I have a LED COB light that is actually 60W and it's scary. I don't yet have a proper way to keep it cool. Even an Intel CPU cooler with Noctua paste gets too hot lol. Also, thank the new KZfaq algorithm for recommending your video. They seemed to have done something good for once!

I am very happy to hear that you enjoyed this video. It has been a while since i did it and tought people wouldn't really like it. LEDs really can be bright, but also hot. Not sure what you can do for your arrangement. Maybe prltier modules and cooling fans ? I think you may need some serious cooling unit. Maybe water cooling or a combined, fan, peltier and water cooling systems.

The price is too steep. The chase for efficiency has diminishing returns. A normal 7W bulb used to be about 1 euro on sale. These might last a bit longer because of less heat. I think 3000K is better, but I can't speak about the "green" appearance. Maybe it would look good if you got used to it and had the same color in all rooms.
@photonik-luminescence
@photonik-luminescence 19 күн бұрын
Agreed. For now, Altough it does fulfill its promises (compare to a 60W incandescent light bulb) it is pretty pricey. There are cheap efficient LEDs, but when i say "cheap", I also mean the build quality. Not sure how long it would really last. At least the philips one has some quality to it. Im sure you could get use to it's hue, but it just feels wrong. Ledvance has a model where it's colour is basically backrooms. This is thanks to a mix of normal and the green ones except when the LEDs are so separated that one half of the room is normal and the other liminal. Thanks for watching !

Products with exactly the same packaging and lamps are also sold in China, but the Chinese version is only 200LM per watt (4W bulbs provide 800LM). I don’t know if it is because of the difference in voltage or the difference in measurement methods. But these light bulbs are very cheap in China, only selling for 30RMB, which is equivalent to US$4.20.

Over here they cost about 10,00€ branded by Philips along with their website. It is a quit unique LED bulb but the green tint is just not natural. Philips claimw that this is because the eye can see better in the green side of the spectrum and thus it would be more efficient (this could however be the way the new phosphor looks like)

More like a lamp in a fixture with more tha one bulb for a room. I have a room that only requeried 2 4W bulbs. The Philips bulb emites the brightness of a 60W incandescent bulb wich is considert standard for a bulb. So, yes you can light a room. The real chalange is to get used to its spectrum that is more tilted to Green.

@@photonik-luminescence I can give some skin to the game of LEDs lights. About 6 years ago I purchased Polaroid floodlights. Six to be exact of the temperature of 5000K with a 2200 lumens 150 watts equivalent to incandescent. These bulbs have been on 24/7/365. Not even a flutter or problem even when the temperature goes down to -20 Fahrenheit. One year later I decided to get more but they did not stock 5000K but had 4100K color light bulbs. So I gave them a try and they work perfect, on all the time. What I noticed is the fortyone hundred K type had a much better color spectrum than the 5000K ones. The rest is they are perfect for my use. The Dubai bulb types I will be using at my home location. All the bulbs that I tried are just junk, Does not matter if they are brand name or chappie stuff. They do not make it for much more. What I want is bulbs that will last twenty years and not miss a lick. Would just adding more filament material inside the bulb That should increase the life part of the bulb I think. The color just has to be 4100K as that seems to be the best for color spectrum. The 2700K or 3000K variety are just too reddish and or greenish hues. Also it seems the my eyes just do not like there GLOW. What do you think of my two cents Sir ??? Good day and peace too.

@photonik-luminescence

Unfortunately it is exactly what it was ment to do. Philips claims that the greener spectrum is better for our vision since from the 3 colored cones in our eye, the green one is the most reactive to light. More or less this is a "improvement". I must say that it personally gives of a backroom style light. Its worse with other identical LEDs that simply use a normal side of LED and the green tint. I really hope Philips reconsiders this aspect because it is really unusual
@Thallishman
@Thallishman 7 ай бұрын
that's so interesting they would spin that story as a salespitch(although green sensitivity is true). However since its developed for consumers(which want pleasing light). i think the raise of 2700 to 3000K and the prominent green tint is a result of tuning the phosphor specs suchs that they could achieve this A-class energy efficient and have that ultra-efficient rating. I guess its not for me, im still waiting for lower blue-spike LEDS and deeper Reds rendering🧐@@photonik-luminescence

Yeah, i also believe that the phosphor technology is better at being green and that's why they used it. The story that we perceive green better may just be a bonus. I imagine that in the future, people may look back at this step ane be like: ... This was the first great step for actual improvement of LED efficiency... but it had a unstandable green hue... .Maybe i would use the LED outside. Other than that the chemistry of the phosphor would also be interesting. After all, aren't most highlighters yellowish-green ? I also hope to see a version where the hue is more balanced. Although not at the exact same efficiency i found a LED claiming to output about 200lm/W. Best thing is that it's a neutral white LED bulb. Its of 20W or so. It's excellent as a photography lamp in a soft box. At least compared: The LED (20W) outputs as much light as a 40W photography CFL.

Edit : Ti-am dat like si subscribe.

Problema e daca tine in realitate cat scrie pe cutie si daca chiar are atatia lumeni. This means that the bulbs do not flicker at all ! The bulb i showed you is one. But it says on the box 3. Search a bulb with the highest color rendering index (CRI). That is also a good thing generally. I suggest good brands such as osram and Philips. But if philips 9w again, just go for the cool white one. I hope this suggestion is usefull.
