@@GarySiniseOfficial I know what you mean. It's a difficult balance and a lot of the public are unreasonable because their initial emotion to an incident forms their permanent opinion. I'm not one of those people but I know it's a nightmare for police to set the correct tone between constant serious diligence and being a welcome sight for people. I like the balance in this clip and I wouldn't blame the officers dancing if some nutter was in the crowd. Odds are they still wouldn't have seen them preparing prior to doing whatever they were planning anyway. Plus there's probably just as many incidents prevented because a cop did something non-typical which changed their sightline. A twerking cop might look upwards and see a dangerous person in a window for example.

@carloss Loss Agreed. The first news article I saw on a 'police shooting' (it was that moron carrying a live katana in a crowded area), I went and looked up the crime statistics provided by the FBI. That's when I realized people weren't doing their research. The information is out there. There's no excuse for not educating youreslf. And my philosophy is: I don't care if you are white, black, green, purple polka dotted, or from another planet. If you break the law, you are subject to arrest. If you resist arrest, it will not end well for you. And if you are stupid enough to threaten an officer? I'm sure you can see where this is going... Is it a little simplistic? Probably. Is it something we learned in kindergarten? Yup. Actions have consequences. I have a fanfiction in the works for Zootopia, where the fox is going through police training and realizes just how stupid it was for him to jump at the rabbit like he did. Lol, I make it a point to thank people for their service in both military and police force. My grandfather was in the navy, and my husband's family has a long history of military service with lots of friends on the force. It's often a thankless job, and one with many dangers. If me using basic manners and paying for a meal when I can will put a smile on their face, I will gladly do so. :)
@warriormaiden98294 жыл бұрын
@carloss Loss Agreed! Two biggest roots for all the problems today? Lack of research/education, and lack of discipline in the home. Wait to make a decision/judgment until you have all of the facts, and do your job as parents now, or the courts will be forced to be much harsher later.

Don't hate on the boss, he did his job. The cops dancing had broken their formation, some assigned to the other side of the road were coming closer. And their formation is there for a reason, to minimize response time if something happens. It's all fun until something does happen, and then you have to justify why your troops were dancing 30 feet away from where they were supposed to be. Still though, good to see cops being humans :)

This is the problem. Speaking as someone who lives in Philly. Our force does not interact with the community. There are no positive interactions except a few cops like this who let their gaurd down and treat us like humans instead of Jailbirds. That sergeant messed up something beautiful for then to stand gaurd. Those people were not doing anything but enjoying the officer's and vice versa. The bad stuff during the parade didnt happen until the POLICE started backing people up and forcing them to do things. So the people retaliated and went wild this day.
