Philodo e-bike 400' Hill Climb Test

I get asked about the hill climbing abilities of the Philodo H8 and wanted to show the results of that. I put 'em through the wringer when I test/review ebikes. The H8 passed with flying colors! Check out the link below.

Seems like the perfect bike for trails like this and general exploration. From the comments I gather that the range is respectable as well! Some of the trails I ride have some steep climbs, like Peanut Butter Hill and what I like to call "Pedal-strike pass", both on the Lakeview MBT in Michigan. PBH is 48.1% and PSP is 30.9%, but both are short and can be made with a little momentum and enough power. Thanks for the video!

On flat ground it's 40 mile range, with some heavy throttle in PAS 5 in some areas, and climbing steep hills up 2200' it gets 25 miles. That's a lot of riding on trails so plenty of fun on one charge. Thanks!

I like the H8, it's cool.....I just wish you could turn off the front motor when you're cruising the urban jungle (to save power)

I would just stay off the throttle and use PAS only.

On flat ground at the beach I got 40 miles with some heavy throttle use. In the mountains climbing steep grades up 2500' I got 25 miles. The new Philodo Jumbo is the same bike with full suspension and TWO batteries for 46ah. That would double those numbers.

TY! I got 38 miles on flat ground at the beach but did get throttle happy a few time when had to go around Marina Del Ray on the streets otherwise at PAS3 I could have gotten about 45 on flat ground. Climbing up 2200' with a bunch of mountain trails I got 25 but it was some serious climbs with heavy throttling.

When u strrt off pedalling do u find that bike slow before motor kicks in and same on throttle.?

Not really that long, could be my setting. Plus I use the throttle alot to take off lol and when I let it go PAS kicks in in like 2 seconds

What pedal assist number were you using to climb up that grade at that speed?

Usually 2. Anything higher just spins the front wheel. For really steep parts I drop it to 1.

1. Do you know if PAS 5 but with only using the rear motor would work better for this level of Grade than a PAS 2 with both motors? 2. What speed could you achieve with this level of grade going PAS 2 with both motors if you knew for sure there wasn't hikers and didn't have any worry about potentially running into someone?

This got lost in KZfaq somehow. If I went to PAS 5 it would require harder pedaling and prob only go as fast as I was with more work. I don't even try it because it would put too much strain on the motor for sure. Single motors can easily burn up on this climb and have. 1000w mid-drive can do it, just more technical operating those. In PAS 2 the max speed is 14, I hit PAS 3 towards end of first climb allowing me to get to 18 and the max in 3 would be 21 if I knew it was clear.

Haven't tried the Rambo Krusader yet. All I know is this bike is crazy fun and the throttle for the front motor is a perfect setup for me.

I am 5'6" and have ridden a 26" Mt. Bike my whole life. I'm a Sports Class Rider. Am I too short for this bike? Thanks

Same size here and only ride 26x4 types. This is the lowest one I have and feet aren't flat when seated if that's what you're looking for. It's pretty subjective so I couldn't say if it would be good for you and would suggest trying out some others about that size to see if it's comfortable. I started on a Vtuvia which was much bigger and did fine. They call these 26" tires when they are really 29" with fat tire.
