I think it's because the kids get to see their parents as someone other than just their mom or dad... They see the young, cool person their mom/dad was/were. Gives them a different kind of appreciation for their parents and strengthens their bond.

The most awesome thing about this, is this is most likely what the parents grew up on. And the kids prob never heard this song, but they killed it, respectfully. We need more of this. W older songs, cant let our era go anywhere. Best vibes from this era of music

Just a iconic jam for dancing. Our local radio would sometimes put their call letters when Johnny would say radio rocking. He did it for them. It made it really fun and personal

Damn, i can relate to the mom w 3 mixed kiddos. Love love the next set 2 w the mixed daughter. That young girl is REAL real good. She got swag and moves and attitude and knew how n when to do extra. I cant figure y people wud thumbs down this EDIT- Her relative at the end left her baby in the dust. DAYUM. She was like "I paid for this. Its my time to shine. Plus u dont even know the song hun."
