I don't keep track but I've probably seen 40ish shows since 1995, much much much bigger fan of them in the 90s than the last 25 years, still occasionally get some great moments...This was the greatest Phish show I've ever seen. Got a ticket at the last second, lucky to have been there

Right there with you! First show for me JazzFest New Orleans in like 95 or 96. Then I was hooked! Admittedly, then no idea who they were. They have been a part of daily life since. I followed them so much I found myself going to every show, tix or not, and chill in the lot if couldn't attain a miracle. Alas, I did pay a price for selling something I shouldn't have for a couple years to pay for hotels, driving, etc. So in 2000 I got busted distribution of Lucy, Sky, Diamonds and lost 66 months of freedom. Then got out and fast forward to now, 5 beautiful kids, amazing wife, and am a tennis coach. I've been to Orange Beach and all 3 nights in Nashville recently. Wish could be more, but kids, work, wouldn't allow time. Definitely want to go to Dover. Sphere just a bit too pricey. Great to see someone that's been following them as long as me❤

Cmon, bro. I know it's your opinion, so you can't be wrong. But there is no way this show is the best show you've seen. Nothing these days has the energy of the 90s shows.This show included. But I'm happy you enjoyed it

@@sozeiagreed about their energy in the 90s -- that and their songwriting of this century just pales in comparison. However, they still do rip once in a while, imcluding at this show. Also, the Gamehendge stuff worked well for them this time -- felt great. All I know is, 1st set I thought they were playing better than normal but not blown away...but by two or three tunes into set 2, I was in shock (also psyched). After 2nd set, the whole venue seemed like they had experienced somethin. End of 3rd set I left MSG speechless.

@@5KTennisI’m 3 yrs behind I was a dead fan and was reluctant after Jerry died but three years was enough. No music and I broke down and went to see fish and New Year’s Eve 1998 going in 99 from the first song they had me hooked they opened up it Prince 1999 and I was hooked ever since

I went to bed after Melt. I’m old. It felt like that was the final show of their career, now it’s on to The Sphere? Get Back On The Train, must reference the fans checking, in and out with the band, since the band goes on for decades. So many highlights. So many great shows. Thank you Phish. Great review Kevin

I know 100% you and I were feeling very similarly when a)Harpua began, and b)when it was clear they were going for IT. I know this for a fact because your facial expressions and lack of words are the exact same as I was looking, mumbling, feeling…. I’m still processing it. A couple of real tears appeared on my face, from my couch, no one else around, watching this band do things I’ve wanted them to do my whole phish career. As much as I was bummed I’m home, I was so glad for this band and this community and everyone that was able to be there. I’ll be unpacking this for a while. And check it…there was no “dog at the station…” segment… there is still more coming sometime. The story is not over yet. 🦎👏❤️🎶🪩

I'm in shock. Couldn't be more happy. I did call a lot of this Harpua into Gamehendge was always the dream. A dream came true last night. A dream that's been running through my mind for 25 years. 😢 And the encore was 3 of the highest energy bangers on top of it. I went 6/6 in my pick 5 with a harpua pick as the bonus. So ill always have that too.

Great review, as always, of one of the best shows (of AnY band!) I’ve ever seen, let alone the numerous by the P-fish! And btw, sir, a very late congrats on your nuptial (sp?) news…I’ve been out of commission for awhile. But this band is not near out of commission yet!! An evening I was honored to witness, even from the couch!! ✌🏼

Noone believed me when I called that harpua>gamehendge. Was following since night 1. No gamehendge songs at a msg run?? What else could it mean? Never felt so good to be right. 12/28/23 was the 25th anniversary of my first show. And in that 25 years, thus definitely ranks towards top show tier (Big Cypress and my first show also). I can honestly say, just like everyone else in that building that I never thought I'd witness a gamehendge (or another one to a few in the building). My 41st birthday is on the 4th, so a perfect way to cap off 40 years. Just wish I didn't get covid. But it was worth it.

Definitely in my top tier shows too. It's been 24 years for me. Musically this was probably the best new years show I've seen out of the 6 I've been to. And really overall musically it was pure magic. It kills me now that I could have seen them at The Wetlands back in the day but I was too into The Dead and wasn't ready to give them a chance. That changed the first time I saw them.

From inside the building, though I'm not a big Life Beyond fan, Trey caught a VIBE playing on that and we witnessed the pivotal moment when he locked in with his muse (during the solo) and that energy carried through the whole rest of the show.

edit: wait, I think "The Wolfe" was the dancer/singer that was a part of some of the Beacon Jams shows, most notably for the YEM performance wow, what a show! This was a really, really fun one. I was definitely in the "it's never gonna happen, guys" camp, glad I was wrong. Oddly, my dog wasn't impressed when Grandma started the TMWSIY record. She looked at me like she thought I was going insane and then promptly left to go sleep on my bed. Her loss. Overall, a great run this year. Can't wait until Mexico and then definitely for Sphere. That one's gonna be wild.

I’ve been seeing Phish since 1997. I don’t think anything could have topped Big Cypress, and I never thought would ever experience a Gamehendge, but after 3 amazing nights, they officially made my brain explode. I cried, I laughed, I felt every emotion. The best band in the world.

At first it did look like an abrupt landing, but I quickly realized it was in the right location. Great show!

@@thomaspickering2344 It landed in Section 115 before being passed along by fans to the crew on the side of the stage. It was supposed to continue flying for the rest of the song. Read a comment from someone who worked on the show and they said the batteries were dying and it was getting grabbed by the crowd so they pulled it backstage.
