Page came in looking spun out! I love the Phish we have now but seeing this gets me nostalgic. I am glad they are straight now but if not for the drugs, we would be without a lot of great songs.

I would love to be at this gig. Just to see and hear them go through all their current songs before they start breaking out everything else like Prep School Hippie, Dear Mrs. Reagan, Rotation Jam, In A Hole, etc. It would be something to be a part of that.

I was at Big Cypress..... I could care less about any record. These guys EARNED their money that weekend ! ! ! They played .... Friday Dec 30th 4 pm - 6 pm 8 pm - 10 pm and Sat morning Dec 31st 12 am - 2 am Then Saturday evening 8 pm - 10 pm All BEFORE playing Jan 1st 12 am - 7 am They play 15 hours in front of 80,000 over a 40 hour time span. Let me tell you.... security was WEAK. It was 80,000 that paid to see Phish... thousands more snuck in..... nobody was checking for tickets. The hot air balloon had a long line... But they had problems. So they shut it down. Just before midnight.... they opened it back up. My girlfriend and I walked up and got on. With zero wait...We paid 20 bucks for 10 minutes. I tipped him 20 more and he let us stay up another 10. This was 15 minutes before midnight..... It was easily 100,000 people. Nobody LEFT before it was over. I watched from the very very very back. I was the last person to leave. It took 45 minutes for the concert area to clear. We slept all day New Year's Day and left at 1 am Jan 2nd. It was still an hour of stop and go traffic 18 hours after the show had ended before my speedometer hit 30 mph.... Best NYE of my life.....

John Paluska, he was their original manager for many many many years up until Coventry, as to why Phish is under new management is unknown to me, kinda sad because the Phish team was always so tight knit, like a family, now they got a new sound guy & new road manager as well, things change i guess...

For the sake of clarity, Phish never claimed after Big Cypress (the seven hour set) that they had played 'the longest gig' in history. Thus, how exactly is (or was) Phish delusional?

actually, they did mention that it would be the longest gig ever, which it never was. the record was 24 hours in 1999 played by Screamin' Freeman in Arizona at an event sponsored by Hardee's.

I like Phish. I don't like the drug scene surrounding Phish. I think Phish needs to straighten out the ship that it's commandeering and get the message to the listeners that you don't have to wake up with your face glued to the carpet to get the vibe. It wouldn't really matter if they took a stand or not since the mainstream media doesn't know Phish from Fish.

Still seems to be a lot of confusion. Since when is 7 hours longer than 24 ? Current record is 50 hours. Maybe I'll give it a try next summer

thanks for the smart ass comment our record was legit but was outdone later the same year and we were never featured in the guinness book- at the time,we played a couple of major blues fests, BB King's, and a fourth of July gig as the opener for Sara Evans almost 10 years ago - our bassist wrote a tune that was recorded by a somewhat major indie act in 1999 and actually made the indie charts. Phish never played the longest show, and never had the record for doing so.

PS - the current record for longest gig is up to 50 hours and happened in Africa or something. Once again, even in 1999, Phish NEVER held the record. It was already up to 24 hours when they did their 7 hour gig. I don't see why so many people keep sending me bullshit messages. ITS A FACT. The first record was set in 1999 by a group in Arizona at an event sponsored by Hardee's. PHISH NEVER SET THE RECORD. The end.

It's not lame insight. 24 minus 7 is 17. Phish never held the record. Both statements are equally true.

Actually my group had the real world record a long time ago for playing 16 hours at a the World Outreach in middle Tennessee. More than twice as long as Phish. The current record is now over 40 hours. Even when Phish played over 7 hours, the record was already 24 hours. Phish is delusional. They lose.
