Seeing some of the comments about appreciation for the audience, I want to add this. My first Phish show was at the Variety Play House in Atlanta in '91. I saw them there at least 3 times and other small venues in Atlanta, Florida and California between 91-93. There was probably about 300 people per show, and the audience was made up of people from all over the country, and they were among the most attentive audiences I've ever had the pleasure to dance with. I was and still am a huge Dead Head since 1980, but the early Phish shows I got to participate in were hands down the most beautiful scene as far audiences go.

I drove down solo from New England College to catch the show. so glad I did.I had a smoke with Page out front while leaning up against a huge collum of the student building.. so low key.. was page side and sat in front of piano on stage for a bit to enjoy the crowd.. the poster is correct it was" ELECTRIC " my ears rang for dayzzz's..amazing show....thanks for sharing this JEM......

My first Phish show. My high school crush had just gotten into UMass and I went there to visit her. She and I had been to Ventura to see The Dead in '87 and a few other places out west, but this was my introduction to the Northeast scene. I had just turned 21 and hadn't even seen Jerry on the East Coast at this point.

Mike, this was my third Phish show, and the very first one where my mind was BLOWN, and as you said, me and all my UMass friends went home saying that we can't see how these guys won't be famous. We always they would be, and felt blessed that we there as they were coming up. They played later that year at The SUB on 9/22/90, which was as amazing as this one.

I was at this show taping in the back so whoever made this video and/or the audio overdub was hanging out a few feet from me... ;) I had the Nak 100's w/ a pinkish/purplish haired Troll doll on top of the mic stand...

I love these old early 90s shows....I didn't know about them back then...its interesting to see the venues they played at.... I like the Woodbury CT show from April of 90.

Kuroda is Sofa King Great! These early shows with about a dozen par-cans and nothing else he still lights the band like nobody else... just creative as hell with simple lights.

Oh my goodness Trey's tone back then was where it's at. So clean,with that overdrive. What happened Trey, hes got way too much distortion with his clean sound now. I know taste is all relative but I much prefer his sound here up to about 99,I don't know if it's his newer Langudoc guitar but anyway Trey, please go back
