Listen...if you don't like 3.0, don't follow or listen. Dude, everyone ages. Rush played til their fucking sixties and they certainly weren't quite as good as they aged. But man, they still fucking rocked and you were happy to still hear them. Some Phish fans are the only ones I've ever heard who bitched cause there favorites were human, but still continued to bring the goods.

There's something so blissful about when it switches into the 'good about hood' section, just the instrumental chords, building towards the climax. It's just such a joyful energy that reminds me of being a kid or something.

Very well put. They are great. I get that feeling also from Blue Sky by the Allman Brothers Band and Ventura Highway by America. I just accidentally discovered this band. I must have been in my 30s when they were starting so busy with life and children.

Was surprised to have KZfaq recommendation this. Haven’t listened to Phish in years. The last time I saw them was in 97 at the Clifford Ball. I feel lucky that I got to see them in the early days of playing dive bars in Burlington. Fishman actually lived a few miles up the road from me for a short while. Legendary parties at his house. These guys are still absolutely amazing. Looking forward to the reawakening of their music. Thanks to whoever posted this Video.

Treys tone really morphed into a completely new kind of beast these last few years. I guess the transition has been going on for a while now, maybe even going as far back as 2.0 when people first started commenting on differences in his tone. But it has really matured now. I heard a show from 94 with his old classic tone and it really is so different. His tone was all pedals, compression, sustain, his languedoc, his tube screamers. Obviously that is all still part of it, but his gain is way more amp driven now. It's more organic, less digital fx and more natural tones. You can really hear the characteristics of his guitar and its unique tonal quality. I like both styles of trey but I definitely appreciate the sonic improvements of his new tone.
@johnnyt33924 жыл бұрын
Kevin you sound like a nerd :) Trey is a shell of his former self as far as a performer/composer. The sound of his guitar sounds exactly the fucking same. I love Phish but cant stand when hippies like you try to sound all intellectual and cool by making a comment about something that dosent exist in the first place. The only thing that has changed with Trey since the nineties are these three things. Hes older, is sober, and has lost a lot of speed and creativity in his jamming ability.
@WyattBrown3774 жыл бұрын
@@johnnyt3392 Lol sounds exactly the same? Kevin hit the nail on the head, Trey's current rig sounds way different than 90s Trey. His new tone with good ol' tube saturation is incredible. It's crunchier and fuller and complements his slower playing, his melodic single note phrases absolutely sing. I do miss his ultra clean and compressed tones at times though, especially for rhythm.

I can't believe this guys still manage once in a while to hit this stellar journeys...it's almost unbelievable. Although it happens only once per year and just one song in a while, is already very much and a lot...wow...sometimes it looks like that all that time they spent together out there in the music universe, made them able to step out of their human envelope and become who they really are! Who? Well, if you have to ask, you will never know...that's a human question, irrelevant. And the reason they are so able to transfer in who they really are, when playing, is a consequence of all the time they have spent physically TOGETHER, developing skills and evolving as human beings. Exactly the opposite of what these psychos running the establishment want from us now. To be isolated, disconnected from each other while brainwashed online, controlled to become stupid, non-human... While dead heads don't get along with the laws that control freaks create out of their fear and greed...get away from our way, fearful weirdos...we are free, and freedom is the most important condition to be in. Free to be ourselves, regardless the crazy circumstances those enslavers are creating. They are expired, out of their time... turn on, tune in, drop out brothers and sisters. It's time to leave the madness of the western society, risk everything, and go back to the Mother Nature. Hers are the only ways to follow. She teaches us how to leave, together! How to thrive in our potential, how to really fulfill and succeed in this life

A question for anyone who knows.. why is there a drum pressed against the surface of the bass drum on the front of it? What purpose does that serve?
@quadraphonicbasspickup4037 Жыл бұрын
it's a special kind of microphone made from a speaker that captures the ultra-low end frequencies of Fishman's bass drum. Look up the Yamaha "subkick" mic
