Fun fact: The Japanese voice actor for Marco is the same guy that voices the main character Ichigo from Bleach. Also, there is a character that will be introduced in the future that is voiced by Naruto's voice actor.

The reason Akainu has tattoos is because Oda modeled all the Admirals after his favorite movie actors, and the guy he modeled Akainu after was famous for playing Yakuza.

Marco has one of my absolute favorite Devil Fruits, mostly because I love the legend of the Phoenix. His is easily top 3 for me.

Akainu-Bunta Sugawara Aokizi-Yusaku Matsuda Kizaru-Kunie Tanaka They have an actor who is their model. They are big Japanese actors and have appeared in famous Yakuza movies. That's why Akainu has a tattoo. Mr. Oda is a big fan of that movie.

He could literally just draw Akainu without that tattoo, he never drew Aokiji with Yusakus bowler hat. Oda doesn't really do anything for no reason (that is why One Piece is so long lol) Akainu also has a little sword tattoo that anime only fans don't know about. There is a theory out there that Akainu is actually the founder of SWORD because of that small detail which could very much be true and so Oda like. Akainu could be the ultimate double agent...

Oda and one piece anime are simply the best... they presented us a character halfway through a episode... gave it a amazing character background in a few seconds and made us all cry for him less than 10 minutes after that...

I think the correct term for Marco's fruit would be the Bird Bird Fruit mythical model Phoenix (if you remember Zoan types are also divided into sub groups of types within the same species, you've seen several different dog models and at least two cow models). Oh, and if you put two and two together (Little Oars Jr + last reaction you saw his pirate flag that har Oars III on it) it would most likely be Oars great grandson! Food for thought; Hancock is a former slave herself, the slave arrow might not be named from a perpetrators perspective but a victim's. Or, to give it a dark twist; we know she was force fed the devil fruit for the sake of entertainment by the celestial dragons, maybe they named the ability as a dark joke.

Strongest warlord is probably mihawk at this point. You have to remember the fact that he fought shanks, who is an emperor, equally. Also the admirals just threw random attacks at oars they didn’t come at him with their full strength obviously
