It's always been a problem. Prostitutes used to be all over Van Buren Street back in the day, and now they're all over 27th Avenue. The homeless problem has really gotten out of hand lately.

Santan Valley is just a less-expensive suburb and it's far away from most everything. I bet in 20 years Santan Valley will have a lot more more crime and all the problems you escaped from. That's what happened with Maryvale, and look what that became.

@Krystal Rooker Ya, I grew up in Scottsdale in the 60s. It has changed a lot but I can definitely tell a lot of this video was not my hometown. Belive it or not I used to bike to school on a dirt road. There was a dairy farm not a mile or so from my home. It was American Graffiti come to life back then.

This is hardly Old Town Scottsdale. I have lived her 66 years. Try telling the actual facts. You won't find Phoenix PD in downtown Scottsdale unless it is a real emergency and they have been asked to help. I was a nurse then a 911 dispatcher. At 7:44 you show some old Town Scottsdale bars, but before that no.

We live in east Mesa and some years ago we were coming back from a concert in Phoenix with our 14 year old daughter. She said the kids at school would talk about Van Buren Street so we took her on a tour and she got her money's worth. Hookers, pimps and druggies everywhere and a pimp chasing a hooker across the street while beating on her. She's grown now and avoids Phoenix like the plague.

I would never live in Arizona when I think of arizona it reminds me of my first husband which was a mistake that is his state never will be a place I would ever live . Our divorce ended there and I was very happy .

@@kathismith2865 Nearly anywhere east of the Mississippi and north of the Mason-Dixon line... no drought, no hurricanes, no wildfires and you'll pay much less for much more. Outside of 1978-'83 in the armpit of PHX, I've lived my entire life in WI, and I truly can't imagine living anywhere else.

Now priced out of housing, and returning to Wisconsin..this spring. Cant wait... The weather here is just not a selling factor anymore..not when my grandsons lives are at stake....

I dont like where I live anymore. It's so sad to see how much Some parts of Arizona have gone down hill. Where I live was not a bad place at all we moved away from the bad part of town back in 2001 and now it doesn't matter where you go. If it's Phoenix Glendale Peoria even Tempe anywhere it's all crap.

Love to see the Phoenix PD on the job. We have a really good police force here. In spite of every attempt of the Democrat politicians to prevent them from doing their job they manage somehow. BTW, do not drink and drive in Scottsdale. It's tougher on DUI than any other place in the USA.

This is what happens when a City lets a lot of those people too many at once, who have different habits, cultures, education, background, etc. They should teach them those before letting them in.
