Yeah, turned out about as expected. Phoenix Guard might have been able to break the Halberds if they didn't forget how to fight below 25% HP for some reason... but they'd probably still have lost overall. As for the funny line formation after beating the Flagellants? I've had it happen before. It's horribly annoying, especially with skirmish units, who decide to make a long line BEFORE listening to the order to run away from the incoming melee infantry (or whatnot). It's eminently frustrating. It also made doubly sure the Crossbows could route them here. I was a little surprised they got through all the Flagellants, though. I too would be especially pleased to learn why that keeps happening. And Greatswords? They're technically already a cost effective counter. They'd probably not win 1v1, maybe because of Martial Mastery running out they could, but they are definitely a cost effective counter to elite halberd infantry of all types.

Thanks for the comment. Yea, that "formation" was annoying though I think the X-bows would have won in any case that one :)

As expected, Spearmen and Swordsmen haven't enough staying power, with Halbs, GS or Flagellants they stay longer or do more damge allowing the Xbowmen to kill the Elfs

Well, seems the spearmen didn’t last as long as I hoped and I underestimated the effect of the armour. I’d figure two defensive units would fight far longer. Ah I see I didn’t account for the martial mastery. That gave a huge buff that pushed them ahead

Phoenix guard have 30% physical resist as well which further mitigates the damage they take.

If you play back the video around 17:14 you give an order for a long side facing formation by mistake. (The arrows indicating the facing of the unit pointing sideways) After that you just righrt click on the archers givig them a simple attack order never realigning the long formation. The elves only try to keep the long formation you gave them a second before when attacking. Baseicly you accidentally dagged a new formation instead of right click before atracking the ranged unit. I dont really think it would have been any differet result if you dont misclick. Maybe a few more dead archers.

Thanks for the comment. Agreed on that. It kind of just happened and I don't really know why - I thought that they would perform the charge properly after that but well... And agreed, if not done, they could have gotten perhaps a couple of extra kills :)

Thanks for the comment. Imo the Crossbows seem to be the main damage dealers in these tests and the infantry's main task is to hold the line :)

Hello! I don’t know if anyone has suggested these ideas to you before, but how do you feel about such battles: Skarbrand, Imrik (dragon), and if you want Kholek against Tamurkhan (Bubebolos), Kholek against Belakor, Grombrindal against Ungrim. Any good ideas? :).

Thanks for the comment. Yea, that would have been beneficial for the Spears and Halbs. Imo Sowrds, Flagellants and Greatswords charged :)

@@yourlocalfurrylandsknechtowo Yeah, if your charge is so low you still might want that charge reflection from being braced (which doesn't only work against large, that's separate from charge defence vs large)..
