We, Singaporeans are so blessed to have Professor Mahbubani ~ Singapore is both friends with China n USA. And likewise as our PM Lee HL said, Singapore is too small to make effect any change of China/US relationship. We r a small voice calling for a balance world order restoration for peace n prosperity. US President Biden is not a leader; because a Leader leads even against all odds for the people he presented.

First of all, you should understand how the United States treats the Taiwan issue. The United States has repeatedly stressed the one China position and promised that Taiwan is an inherent territory of China. However, the United States has been inconsistent. Take actions that are not conducive to one China, interfere in the affairs of China and Taiwan, and interfere in China's internal affairs. This has seriously damaged the mutual trust between China and the United States. The responsibility lies in the United States!

i think you have gotten it wrong. The US administration has agreed there is only ONE lawful (representation) governance of China and that's the PRC ..... but it has NEVER stated Taiwan is a (province) territory of China .... because historically the island Taiwan has NEVER been ruled under CCP (or PRC) and is currently under ROC's rule. So what's the legal basis from the PRC that Taiwan belongs to part of them? Well, PRC ground stems from claiming ROC belongs to PRC and so Taiwan belongs to PRC ( Taiwan belongs to ROC which belongs to PRC and so Taiwan belongs to PRC). But this belief is unilateral since the current ROC believes otherwise and since ROC is still existential , there is no legal ground from the PRC side. And the US administration has exploited this point in its support for Taiwan's defence, i.e. yes we support one China policy but we have NEVER stated Taiwan is part of PRC.

Last time I got high respect for US. Lately after Clinton Admin till now US flip flop on Taiwan issues. Worst threatening Saudi Arabia, sanctions China, Russia, Iran, N Korea, Iran etc. Showing of military might everywhere and using proxy war etc. US democratic system is a flop.

@@whatever911 - Carter: "The Government of the United States of America acknowledges the Chinese position that there is but one China and Taiwan is part of China." The ambiguity is here (OR rather the obvious): according to the speech, the Carter administration "acknowledges the Chinese position ..... " in other words .... yes, we know/aware about the Chinese position (and claim) .....but there is no word that the US administration agree/accept that position (claim)

The only question I'd like to ask is why the US politicians and government know Taiwan question is the first concern in China, they still have to do something to anger China in this dimension. China, in contrast, do not challenge any concerns of US, even would like to cooperate with the US to solve and conquer her or the rest of world's difficulties and problems. It might be the reason why the dialogue between two leaders without some obviously improvement in the important issues because they are not on the same exception.

Tragically, military factories in USA n Russia are now fully recovered and on a full throttle, after the Ukrain war. China has to be well prepared of a USA strike asa USA finds her in a losing game, economy tie is immaterial to any hegemony, like it or not. WW2, Japan attacked the pearl harbour, knowing without done so was a consequential defeat. What a gamble!

China’s raises and falls, historically, have been internal issues more so than external factors. Dr. Mahbubani’s analysis is rather shocking, and it seriously is NOT helping China reaching the leadership position in respective to China’s enormous potential!

他其實主要是站在新加坡，或者第三世界的角度來看待中美兩大國的關係。當冷戰時期，因為中國尚未崛起，所以認為大國關係與自己沒那麽有關。可如今中國已經崛起了，自己成為被討論的對象，有些同胞們可能還沒習慣😂😂😂 可是馬凱碩教授可能對中國人的瞭解不如對中國的瞭解，譬如他對我們對台灣的態度就滿不以為然的，他似乎也不那麼贊成祖國的統一，即使他支持“一個中國”原則，這是我一點小小觀察。

I have watched over 20 of his ytube post, he repeats same things over and over again, China's policies has changed over the last few years, it's not the same as when Deng was the CCP chairman, I am surprised Kishore is repeating as if he is under the control of some organisation, he does not have dementia?? He gets alot of tumbs up from the. 50 cents warriors, how has this man changed???
