Despite being a fan of Capcom games, Capcom themselves and the decisions (i.e. only giving Dual Destinies & Spirit of Justice digital releases only, not releasing 3 of these of the Ace Attorney games period, and doing with nothing the the mega Man franchise) tend to rub my the wrong way.

MT Zehvor Both games repeat the same formula; Resident evil since the 4th installment is the same shooter shit with the same linear gameplay just witth different characters; and Ace Attorney is just the same game all the time but in this case CAPCOM use the NOSTALGIA (Maya's return) to sell the new games instead of aiming for creating a good new game that focuses on Apollo (Apollo should be the only main character with Athena, and the "Maya wannabe" Trucy as assitant) but there is again Phoenix overshadowing both rookie lawyers and Edgeworth to the new prosecutor Simon; because NOSTALGIA sells better.

Christopher Tobar Disagree with you there. Ace Attorney's gameplay is similar, but the main innovation is focused on the story. As for what the story should focus on, well, I'd suggest playing through SoJ, because it is very much his story above anyone else. Going to give a minor spoiler here... ...but Apollo gets the most playable time out of any of the attorneys, even Phoenix. The final case, with the exception of one short investigation segment, has Apollo as the sole playable character. With that said, I think Phoenix has plenty of room to develop as a character as well, especially his relationships with characters from the old trilogy now that he's older. I think you're being a bit too dismissive of having Phoenix as the main character.

Well we appear to have a difference of opinion. *[SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T COMPLETED GAME]* ... Well, where to even begin? Firstly, I was dissappointed with the main villain, Ga'ran, who is perhaps one of the least likeable villains I've ever encountered - she looks like a Disney villain, and dresses like a prostitute. In any case, it was clear from early on that she, presiding over Khura'in's Dark Age of the Law, and having effected the DC Act, was going to be the main antagonist. I prefer to be surprised by a plot twist - like in DD, when we found about who the Phantom really was. Or in Justice for all, with Matt Engarde's alter ego. I also didn't like how they'd removed Athena (one of my favourite new characters) from the final case (but I kind of understand why they did) - because I really liked Athena, and I felt that through the whole game, they had simply left her on the sidelines. To be frank, it's not just the ending that upset me - I hated most of the characters in the game, particularly the whole kingdom of Khura'in. All the characters had stupid name puns, and were not very convincing. Datz Are'bal, for instance: he laughs all the time, and is waay too jokey and friendly for somebody who's on the run from the secret police all the time. His wide bug-eyed expressions were also wacky and disproportionate in relation to his face size. I didn't like Rayfa either, I found her rather annoying and immature. Paul Atishon was obviously a sleazeball with nothing much to him; he would have made a good villain if used earlier in the game - and I felt his presence had no effect overall in the story arc other than to pit Phoenix and his protege against each other. That's another thing that bothered me - Apollo suddenly faces off against Phoenix without any warning or context; it's only after the case where we found out that Maya has been kidnapped (again), and this time, Phoenix is clearly on the wrong side. What happened, Phoenix? It's not you haven't been in a situation like this before - whatever happened to "Find the truth"? But the worst of all of the characters has to be Nahyuta - what a gigantic waste of oxygen. He was only just chucked in all of a sudden, to give Apollo more of backstory. I thought he was a really weak, pathetic man, given how he only waited until the resolution of the final case to reveal his true identity as a rebel Dragon - not for him this whole idea of risking your own life under the DC Act to be executed for challenging the authority of Ga'ran and completing the revolution like his father asked him to! Not only was he completely ineffectual as a rebel, but like most other prosecutors, he is self-absorbed, pompous, incredibly 2-dimensional, and loves the sound of his own voice; not only that - he uses magical beads to harm the defence when things don't go his way (which is typical for a grown man in a court of law, especially one who is supposed to be a monk). What really upset me about the ending (Sorry about the long rant, but there was a lot of material to work with) was Apollo's abrupt decision to leave the agency. I felt that he had a special place back there, and I always liked to think of the characters as like a family. In fact - I liked to think that Apollo and Athena had a future together. So why break up the partnership? So that Apollo gets to set up shop in a grotty, archaic religious town on the mountains, full of unlikeable people with stupid names, and rebuild it's stupid legal system, like it's all his responsibility? They're probably going to flat-out replace him in the next game with some new character anyhow. And that will be that. ...[Sigh] So anyway... I hope that answered your question.

BatHunterofDevon Well first, thanks for a long and explained answer. Honestly, I can see where you are coming from with garan. I knew she was going to be involved in the final case, it was way to obvious, even when yuty and amara turned themselves in. However, I found the way that she was brought down very satisfying, making her guilty and dethroning her. Now, at first I was kinda surprised by Apollo staying in Khurain, but think about it. Apollo went through so much just to take down garan and make the revolution successful. He almost died in the cave him and dhurke went into, and dhurke died for it. If someone you've known as your dad died for a cause, would you really abandon it so easily. Let alone the fact that Apollo might want to talk with yuty more now that he isn't other garans rule. Now I terms of Khurain and its citizens, I feel like it's expected for them to be jerks. They were influenced by garan and inga. Also, this might just be my opinion, but i liked rayfa's development throughout the game. At first she was incredibly stuck up, rude, and overall just very heartless. But by the end, now she rules over the kingdom with a smile on her face, making a better kingdom And on to yuty. This topic I feel is very controversial. While at one point you could say that he had to act the way he did to save his mother, you could also argue that how mean he was really felt unnatural. I honesty agree with you on this one. I feel like even if yuty didn't show sympathy in court, he could've at least showed signs of being loyal to dhurke when there aren't many people to see. Although I will say that all of his religious remarks made him unique, at least. Tbh, this might all come down to opinion, but I honestly really enjoyed the game. However, I understand some of the points you made.

BatHunterofDevon I also agree that Paul would've been a better villain early game. However, I'm not to surprised that Phoenix would be anxious to save maya in that case. He has struggled with that in Justice for All.
