I own both. I hear better out of the Oticon Mores. Everything is clearer no muffling sounds. On the Phonaks I struggled with all the extra settings and I could not get the adjusted of right and left ears to ever stay when ever I set them at different leaves. Also I did not like the Phonak Paradise automatically changing when it Perceived loud noises or backgrounds I didn’t like that because it muffled everything on me. I will say I have a really bad hearing loss. One ear was damaged in a hyperbaric chamber the other is old age sensory hearing loss and I have had Stapedectomy’s in both ears. I hands down love my Oticon Mores. I don’t care which company has more features I just like the fact I can actually hear a lot better with my Oticon’s.

As an Audiologist I agree. Clients get better hearing with the More especially in groups. The Phonaks focus in front too much but then if there is a loud talker at a table behind you the front and back talkers seem to blend together. Paradise are still superb products. Connectivity and Tap Control are excellent. Rechargeable battery reliability has been a huge issue for us with the Paradise. The More batteries seem to have less faults in terms of errors and reduced life issues. If you stream lots of calls and media the Phonaks may not last the day. The Oticon LE system will allow that. I now fit a lot more Mores than Paradise to match open fit high freq losses better. But let me be clear, as perfectly described in your video each has specific features that certain clients may want and will love. Both are the best of the best on the market at the moment. Get a great Audiologist. Assess your needs and match them with either of the platforms.

I had Unitron, with the intermediary BT device for years. I found your videos when researching prior to upgrading. I watched many many reviews. Thanks!! I have had my Phonak Paradise 90's for about a month. BT connectivity was the deciding factory. Working in IT, I am in Zoom conference calls with world wide audiences constantly. Multiple device connectivity and use of the hearing aid mic with for BT is of utmost importance. There are huge improvements with my Phonak hearing aid. I believe it is because of technology advancements. I have much less problems in meeting rooms, and I believe that is because of the technology the P90's use to combat the rooms inherent reverberation frequency. Thanks for taking the time to do these in-depth reviews.

Dr. Cliff, I love your videos....really helpful. I tried both these hearing aides for 30 days, others as well. Although the technology on the Phonak was potentially fantastic, I found that it failed often. Sometimes taping the aids just didn't answer the phone or while speaking to someone, if I had an itch nearby the aid, my touch would hang up the call. I would often have to manually go in and sort out the bluetooth connection or the device I wanted to use. Sometimes music would stream and I didn't know from where. Most importantly was 'best practices'. I just knew that the Phonak could do better, but she didn't want to use real ear measurement. The Oticon professional used 'real ear measurement' automatically and ultimately, I bought it because I could hear better. I wish I could 'tap and connect/disconnect', but my hearing loss is serious and bottom line is that I need to hear as well as possible, technology aside.

Nice video as always! Personally, I'm really happy with my Naida P90 UP so far! The ability to connect to basically anything that has Bluetooth is absolutely a killer and liberating feature. I can connect it to my iPhone, my laptop, my PS5 (with a small USB Bluetooth adapter) and it just works! No more need to switch the output of the audio cable of my remote microphone all the time. I simply can't imagine going back to a "smartphone-only" Bluetooth hearing aid after that, so restrictive! I really hope Phonak doesn't go back on their decision to go Bluetooth Classic for their future platforms. Too bad it means I can no longer benefit from MFI features (Live listen, easy switching between programs...) but the good far outweighs the bad. I'm also feeling they help me understand speech a little bit better than my previous Resound Enzo 3D, even without a remote mic. For people with severe-to-profound hearing loss like me, I believe Phonak is one of the best choices out there, if not the best. They offer a solution for every situation. It's just a shame their Roger devices are a bit overpriced for what they are, but they're still worth it, and their hearing aids are still good if you can't afford those Roger devices.

I never would have thought the find my hearing aids would be that useful, but I was wrong. One of my Oticon More's came out of my ears while doing some home improvement outside. The app told me where the last place it was, and even though it was under a pile of leaves, with persistence, I was able to finally locate them. That saved me the cost of utilizing the insurance that came with the aids. Thanks for your reviews - very helpful!

It has been 7 months since the VA audiologist ordered the Oticon More 1 rechargeable. I did not realize what I have been missing. The audiologist paired it with my iPhone and they work well. The audiologist told me to stop by anytime that I am in the VA hospital, and he cleans them, puts on new ear cups and checks the settings to make sure that they conform to my programmed settings. This past Friday, he was able to check my settings via the VA health app, while was out shopping. I was diagnosed with moderate hearing loss, and the Oticon More 1, is great. The audiologist ordered them with an extension that loops around my outer ear canal, to prevent the Oticon from being ripped out of my ears when I take off my mask. It has saved the Oticon numerous times from falling to the floor and perhaps damaging them. Based on my own experience, I highly recommend the Oticon More 1, and praise my VA audiologist for great service. I have spoken to other veterans at our VA hospital and they are very satisfied with the care given to us by our audiologist. He has been at the VA hospital for 33 years, and he told me that he takes great pride in helping his fellow veterans.

I wish this video had compared the sound quality of these two devices. This is by far the most important aspect to me in correcting my high frequency losses. I've heard both, however in different environments and at different times. The Opticon sounded significantly more electronic (i.e. unnatural) than the Phonak. It's suggested online that the best devices for music are Resound (Linx Quattro), Signia and Widex (Moment).

I have a reverse hearing slope and have tried the More (two times), Phonak Paradise, the Signia AX and the Widex Moment. I Also had Custom ear tips for all of them for best performance and comparisons. I have found the Paradise to work the best for clarity of speech and in group settings. I will never hear perfectly since my right ear has significant loss. I may go with a cross system next time since I wanted to try to maintain some directionality now. What also helps the Paradise is their APP which allows direct custom controls that you can understand the changes and have control of what you are changing. The More were the worse. Could not hear speech well and in social groups I could not hear much. Their APP did not allow for many impact changes, not enough control. The sound was not natural they had a different sound to them. The Widex and Signia were very similar but their APPS did not have the precise controls and they both had Bluetooth issues. Please note that all of them had some kind of Bluetooth issued but the Phonak Paradise had the least issues. I want to try to get the Phonak Life (waterproof)but Amplifon, my insurance company, does not cover them yet.

@@jmandiolao Try the Phonak Paradise or Life. Reverse slope is very hard to deal with but the controls on the Phonak APP help to dial in the best settings for different environments. Other hearing aids do not have the precise controls. This in turn can help the Audiologist program your hearing aids better. Real ears measurements may not be the correct settings for reverse hearing slope. I cannot tolerate the low frequencies that I need so there has to be a compromise. The Phonak APP with all of their controls help this. People close to me have told me the Oticon and the Widex were the worse hearing aids I have tried, I have tried Oticon twice with two different Audiologist, same outcome. Thanks

I don't know how much this technology has improved with the Oticon More, but I'm sure my next hearing aids will have the focus only in the people in front of me, I don't want more noise in my head.

I will be doing more tests during this testing week. the only strange thing is that I can hear the wind hitting the hearing aid. Maybe that is not a problem with the premium or advanced version. Anyways, my first thought was: with the Oticon Opn I hear the voice as coming from some place (maybe this is more natural sound, I don't know), and with the Audeo paradise I hear the voice as if people is talking to me directly in the ear. Excellent video as always. There is always something new for hearing aid wearers to learn about the various manufacturers technologies but today my take away was that there are 2 types of Bluetooth connection possible - Bluetooth classic and Bluetooth low energy ASHA. I have an android phone, its a Samsung galaxy s9+ and although its on my Resound Linx Quattro connectivity list it no longer streams audio reliably via the ASHA Bluetooth le connection. Resound have an announcement on their website telling potential buyers that their ASHA devices no longer connect reliably with Android 12 devices but my device is an Android version 10 and I've read about Android 11 users experiencing the ASHA bluetooth connectivity problem. Could you do a video specifically on the bluetooth ASHA problem and ways to overcome it? My left ear has worsening low frequency hearing condition while my right ear has normal age-related higher frequency issues. I have used Widex Moment 330 for the last two years and now I am test wearing Oticon Real 2 as I decided I need to be able to hear more clearly and easily in a noisy workplace environment. Oticon Real proves much better for the job than Widex, far naturally sounding in every cases. However not so when it comes to listening to music. I love to listen to mostly (but not exclusively) classical music at home from my "audiophile-grade" audio system. The music I hear through Widex is deep, transparent and extends to higher freqeuncies, whereas via Oticon Real music sounds flat with fine details noisy, muddy and a bit distorted. I suspect this is due to Oticon Real processing sound to be more "listenable" but at the same time adding some artifacts. So I am sure I keep Oticon Real but I will continue to use Widex at home for music. Hope this helps.

For a SSD person like me, who has normal hearing in my other ear, and I only really have trouble hearing speech in normal environments, which aid would you recommend, Phonak or Oticon? Also, do people complain of Oticon being uncomfortable? I trialed Phonak. Sound wasn't as good, but was comfortable. But maybe I needed a better audiologist. Now I am trying Oticon. Hearing great in noisy, but hurts!!! These hearing aid "clips" are torture!

Using Phonak Marvel Audeo 50's for 3 years. The feature I find frustrating to the point of uselessness is the BT connection to my phone. Trying to listen to speech or music from Sirius satellite radio, the sound is mostly high-frequency, little mid-range and no bass. I wish the aids could know that I need the bass when it's coming from the radio. Bass from regular (live) speech doesn't need any gain from my aids.

Thank you soooo much for this video. I am actually trying to decide on these very two hearing aids. I have worn Oticon Opn 1 hearing aids for 5 years. I absolutely love them but it was time for an upgrade. I wanted the Oticon More 1 hearing aids but the hearing provider that my insurance company referred me to doesn't carry Oticons. I am currently trying out the rechargeable Phonak Audeo Paradise hearing aids. They are very nice hearing aids with LOTS of features. However, the issue I'm having (and it's a big one, too) is that every time I connect the BT to my laptop or my iPhone (to watch shows, listen to music and do phone calls), I keep hearing a loud air/wind hissing sound in the background. It's so loud that it, in fact, interferes with my interactions. Does anyone else have this issue? It is driving me crazy. If I can't get this resolved, it will be a dealbreaker with the Phonaks.

I have a severe hearing loss in both ears and have been wearing Oticon for 18 years. Last year I got Oticon More 1 and am happy with them. I couldn’t function without them. They are paired with my IPhone and work well streaming music and phone calls. The only downside is that they drain the battery pretty quickly. I have the replaceable 312 batteries and have to change them about every 3 days. I started with the rechargeable version and sometimes had to do an interim charge during the day for an hour to get me through the day.

Switch to a size 13 hearing Aides battery it bigger than size 312 battery 🔋 of Behind the Ears hearing Aides and you may have to buy a new hearing Aides to fit size 13 battery and it lasted 16 days of 12 hours then rest at night pulling out the battery to conserve battery power while you are sleeping for 6 to 8 hours until you get up start your day over again . I'm guessing rechargeable battery hearing Aides supposed to be lasting longer than 16 hours of listening 🎧 and recharging it up to 3 to 8 hours at night and using it as a backup hearing Aides while using the regular size 13 battery powered hearing Aides .

The rechargeable battery version worked ok for me but my concerns were that I live in a hurricane zone when we can be without power for weeks. I would have to come up with a backup power solution to keep the aids charged. Also when I travel, I would have to carry the charger with me. And if the charger ever broke, I’d have no way to charge batteries. So U went with replacement battery version.

There are many hearing aids available and the prices vary wildly, I wonder why, for me, Panak is a lousy company, and was quite disappointed with the longevity of the unit. I like the in-ear placed units and it does not create a problem if you wear glasses and a took on winter. with covid/glasses and taking Panak behind ear unit is a disaster, you may get a bonus for saying what you say on KZfaq, as a senior I feel I was taken for a right!!!!!!! I am 8 months into wearing hearing aids. I was fitted with the Oticon Mores. I was told how wonderful they are, state of the art blah blah blah. Now, 8 months later I am convinced I'm not crazy. They are the worst. After not being able to hear the person across the table from me in a busy, ambient filled noisy restaurant I am starting my search for the correct hearing aid. I have gone to the person who programmed them and he said that they are already at the maximum setting for cutting background noise. There is nothing unusual about my hearing except that I fit the classic profile of a 70 year old that is starting to lose the high end. My hearing loss is considered mild however I assume that any one wanting to sell me what will be my new pair of hearing aids will want an updated hearing test. I am not in a hurry here and my interest is in a hearing aid that uses directional microphones that Phonak I understand pioneered. I am not sure this review reinforces that or makes any comment about Phonak's directionality versus Phonak. I am open to recommendations here!

Long story short, maybe it's the guy who adjusted them once based on my hearing test, but I find them a total disaster. It seems the ambient noise goes up when I turn them up in a crowded restaurant. I leave with a headache. I started to research Phonak 90R's. This is the latest directional mic technology and the more I read the more impressed I am. Of the five providers in my area who take insurance and are exclusively Phonak dealers I have found one I trust. Keep in mind I am looking at the Phonak Lumity 90R's, NOT the Paradise model the Oticon's are measured against above. The lumity 90R has gotten great reviews dealing with the issue I mentioned before. I free lance as a stage manager for corporate events and my plate is full until the first week of March. Once I am available the first week of March my intention is to try the Lumity 90R's for the 45 day trial and see what happens! One thing Phonak has going for it is they are owned by the same company who owns Sennheiser microphones. In my world thats' a big plus as Sennhiesers are considered state of the art!
