I think the adaptive brightness is turn off is better for xperia, it will get proper brightness.

SPEAKER UPDATE: A lot of people asked about Sony's speakers outputting lower volume. I did turn on Dolby, but I just found out the speakers actually get much louder in some other apps (such as music apps). Sony must've limited how loud the speakers get for certain apps (like KZfaq) in favor of balancing/optimizing sound. This same audio track gets a LOT louder when played in music apps rather than through the KZfaq app. Louder meaning as loud as the iPhone gets. It's odd because other phones don't limit volume for apps, though I understand the intention to optimize/balance for a video experience. Unfortunately that doesn't work as well for a test like this where the intention is to use the phone as a loud speaker. Maybe in the future I will test through a different app because the Sony is definitely capable of matching the iPhone's volume level. It'd be nice if Sony gave users the choice of optimizing sound vs unleashing the maximum volume of the speakers, but for now it depends on the app.

i dont know about new xperia phones but in older ones u could just go to the default music app and turn on some feature called as xloud... it maximizes the volume for all apps.. hope its still there!!😃

No brand can catch up with Sony when it comes to audio...no body wants loud speakers on a phone, the way the phone putting out the audio counts

Samsung phones also have a feature like this where you can set the volume based on the particular app.

It's true. It only gets really loud in the music player app. For other music players like Spotify and Tidal where the stereo experience isn't a priority it would've been much nicer to have the loudness. My theory is that there are SONY drivers in the music app which enable the speakers to get louder. SONY can fix this though by not needing to have the drivers in order to make the phone louder. They could send a global volume increase but then the KZfaq and video experience isn't as nice anymore...

v gopi i know. Even i am a fan nokia...and when they replace its CEO with someone better, nokia will on a whole new level. Because i am tired of seeing the old snapdragon 660 processor in multiple phones charged at highter price. Nothing innovative. Nothing productive. As of this moment. The Xperia 1 III and 5 III have just been announced but now the 1 II is on sale for $1,000 and 5 II $800. When the new phones release sometime in June then Sony usually knocks the previous generation price down to $800 and $600 respectively before they eventually discontinue.

The instantaneous loading speed of the Sony is just insane. I don't think anything can possibly be loaded faster than instantaneous and Sony is achieving that with this phone.

Jeeez, RAM works different on an iPhone than on Android cause of the OS optimization... for example that´s why an Iphone with 2 GB of RAM is still a smooth device even in 2020 , i hate when people talk about "iPhone´s huge lack of RAM" 🙄. great video anyways 🙃💪

RAM is RAM, they do not operate differently on iPhone, RAM is used for storing volatile data such as app programs, iPhone will run smoothly on 2GB of RAM because iOS probably doesn't use that much ram, can't say the same for other apps, they will probably work like shit. So please don't come here misleading your iPhone propaganda here.

For those who need a quick review:- iPhone look better at only the heavy gaming. So the iPhone is pretty more powerful. Sony is better at everything else. I can't judge the camera without seeing the actual thing.

I have both phones. My iphone is somewhere inside my house, even I don't know where it is because my new phone Sony Xperia 1 ii is soooo good. Photo Pro and Cinema Pro on Xperia are amazing. I don't use iPhone to take pictures and videos anymore.

Yes I did, BUT Sony must've limited how loud the speakers get for certain apps (like KZfaq) in favor of balancing/optimizing sound, because in some other apps (such as music apps) this same audio track gets a LOT louder than the KZfaq app. Louder meaning as loud as the iPhone gets. It's odd because other phones don't limit volume for apps, though I understand the intention to optimize/balance. Unfortunately that doesn't work as well for a test like this. Maybe in the future I will test through a different app because the Sony is definitely capable of matching the iPhone's volume level. It'd be nice if Sony gave users the choice of optimizing sound vs unleashing the full volume of the speakers.
