I have a different approach to gear: 1. As others have mentioned, obviously skip Ahrims and Augury (no benefit) 2. Torture instead of Blood fury. The stats do actually matter in terms of 1-hitting parasites and husks, and it saves money 3. Skip Magus ring. If you camp Ultor, you only need to equip the Ham Joint and activate Piety to 1-hit husks (turns an 8-way switch to a 1-way +prayer) 4. Honorable mention to Inquisitor's mace. It's only slightly less DPS than the scythe, and if you're wearing max crush melee (with torture!) it 1-hits parasites

Unless you are filthy rich and you don't mind pissing away hundreds of millions on scythe charges I'd recommend just using mace instead of scythe even in a high-end gear setup. You will never make back the money unless you get uniques and I remember losing 50m overall even though I got 3 hauberks just bc scythe ate it all up

You either didn't do enough kills to average out the drop rate of uniques or you were unlucky one. Phosani's is about 3.5m/h long term, scythe is 700k/h cost (+ around 500k/h for pots and runes). Even if you didn't count the orbs at all since those are super rare, just inquisitor + staff is 1.4m/h on average which will cover your costs.

@@dominikpecuch2177 that's fair, you're not wrong, that happened to me back when bloods were 2x as expensive and it took 50% more bloods for scythe... but then again, when you say "long-term", it really means "LONG-TERM" since the uniques drop rates for NM are so ass lol

@@lolmuffins1 Yeah long term as in hundreds, potentially thousands kc, which is a LOT when getting 6kc per hour. Drop rates suck, can't argue with that lol. Some will go dry and lose gold, some will get lucky and profit crazy, but average guy should profit something if done at least few hundred kc for 1-2 uniques.

@@dominikpecuch2177 idk maybe they could experiment with giving NM and PNM a drop table on par with vorkath or wildy bosses. After all, PNM is the one Pvm boss that you risk at because you risk going insane from the ridiculous run back if you don't have a tablet..and idc if inquis gets devalued, it was an awful idea from the start for uniques to be so rare.

@@lolmuffins1 It's a shame they made so much effort with the boss only for it to be pretty much dead after people realized the drop rates. I kinda enjoy the fight, I even enjoyed killing it solo when it was just Nightmare version and it took me like 18 mins in guthans lol. I wouldn't want them to make it another money snek. It's just that you don't really need crush, unless you're doing NM and inquisitor mace isn't bis on anything (except some slayer tasks). Not even filling the niche of bis on NM, since scythe takes over.

A few tips for people: 1) use the elder maul as a crush weapon as it has a higher max hit then bgs and you can hit the 55 with less gear switches 2) use a blow pipe and stand in the middle you can tag all sleep walkers and not have to switch to a melle weapon. Also you will 1 hit the sleep walkers so if you plan on camping the boss use mith or other cheap darts 3) you can use that corner tile during spore phase to not get hit by the rifts and stay out of way of the spores

Also augury/ahrims aren’t used here. Only magic damage % helps with charging the pillars

omg you ruined the starter inventory, ahrims does nothing to totems! its only magic DMG% gear works on totems. starting mage gear is trident, occult, tormented and cape.

@@yourboiwaldo7309 the totems in phosanis nightmare only benefit from magic damage equipment and not by accuracy. ahrim is useless. since virtus has been released, it is the only armor before ancestral that is viable against the totems. In the past, other than that, Trident, occult, magic arena 2 cape, tormented bracelet, and imbued or saturated heart(for tridents, sang, and shadow only) are the only viable things against the totems if you do not possess ancestral

It might be correct if the rebalance brings magic dmg % to other pieces of gear but until then no need for anything that isnt virtus/ancestral.

It's the starter inventory, as in the absolute bare minium gear. I don't think every beginner has virtus/ancestral just lying around...

No need for Ahrim / no magic dmg = useless , and imbued heart is more important than mage gear because it gives more max hits

Augury does not help vs the totems because they have no magic defense.

The nightmare seems like a sick boss to take on someday for the hell of it. I’m no where close on my Ironman but it’s one of my long term goals now to solo it :D RSN Bearlievable

wanted to grind out this vry cool looking pet but at 1/1400 with 6 kph in expensive asf gear while losing money for hours before getting any drops, not to mention the 10min long difficult fight everytime... yea no ty

Ahrim's should not be in any setup. Magic accuracy doesn't help with the totems at all. Waste of invy space but otherwise good guide

ngl, the gear for this boss is already outdated. Just take full blood moon set, and tear it apart. Try it and be amazed.

while its a cool guide, watching someone do content in max gear instead of their own minimum suggestion kind of defeats the purpouse of the suggestion. MIght aswell be naked with a rune dagger in MIN gear if youre not showing that its doable in it.

Up to you how you want to play the game. If you want to be quickly thrown into the late game gear that is absolutely fine and acceptable and you even help players who buy membership with in game gp ❤. I highly recommend going through every stage of the game as it is fun to plan for gear upgrades.
