I just finished taking biochem at my university in spring 2015. Unfortunately, these lectures were posted after the semester; these videos would have been very very very helpful. I spent plenty of time reading through lippencottt's biochemistry textbook as well as using their online animation program for understanding complex content such as what is addressed in this lecture. I can tell you that throughout my months of studying biochemistry, I was never able to visualize and understand the processes like I can after watching these videos. Your signal transduction series is excellent!

Love this lecture, first time watching your video but I like the fact that its not slow and boring and not so fast where I have to pause the video. straight to the point and way better than khan academy in my opinion. thank you for your work this helped me a lot.

Hi! I'm confused about the calcium topic. My teacher told us that actually, it is not the inositol triphosphate who allows the calcium channels to open but the calcium itself. She said that inositol triphosphate helps the cannels to remain open but it is the increase of calcium at the citoplasm who makes the channels open. So then... where this calcium that allows the calcium channels of the ER to open comes from? I'm really confused if someone could solve me the question it would be great. Thank you!!
