That should be a happy client, the photos turned out great. I need to make a trip to Zion soon.

With all those double walks it would be a long 6 minute hike. Enjoyed that bit of subtle humour

Thank you Tye! It definitely is a nice place to sit and just observe. We had lunch about 100 yards from this spot next to the creek, and it was perfect!

Fantastic you guys! Great images. So much fun to see what you’re getting. It’s neat to see that it doesn’t have to be all about Autumn in Zion. That is a good reminder to all of us that nice images can be made just about any time.

Great images! You guys didn't want to get out and do some of the epic hikes like Angel's Landing or the Narrows? They're a tad longer than your 6 min hike!
@PereaPhotography

Haha they closed the chain section of angels landing when we were there, and it was pretty crowded, but the narrows video will be up in a few weeks!

@@PereaPhotography looking forward to it! I only spent less than a day in Zion, and I so want to go back and do Angel's Landing, Observation Point, The Subway, and The Narrows. Such an amazing park!

The no standing signs on the bridge are new, at least for the past couple of years. However, they needed to be put there. Like you, the better composition is down on the bank of the river where you went too. Don't say it too loud otherwise, there will be hundreds down there and we all can forget getting good shots.
@PereaPhotography
@PereaPhotography 3 жыл бұрын
Great point!!! And yeah it definitely threw me off seeing that sign, since that’s the only composition I see of that area.

I’m wondering if shooting mid-day is part of your shoot-for-print approach? Is the client looking for the brighter high-key tones that come from that?
@PereaPhotography
@PereaPhotography 3 жыл бұрын
Yes I think day time shots are ok. We have to take that “only golden hour and colorful skies” mentality out when shooting for prints people want to put in their homes. Remember that most people aren’t photographers. What they want is different than what photographers think they want haha. Don’t get me wrong, good light is still very important, but that can mean many things.

I dont get why everyone blurs the water?
@PereaPhotography
@PereaPhotography 3 жыл бұрын
For me personally, I like it because it shows motion. In a still photograph, showing motion adds a dynamic which adds. But not necessarily every time. It big, heavy waterfalls, freezing the water shows power and intensity. It all depends on how you want the viewer to feel, when looking at your image.
@chris_perea
@chris_perea 3 жыл бұрын
@@PereaPhotography and I'm just doing it because Mike is doing it. haha just kidding. I like the soft looking water and there is occasions especially during low light situations (sunrise and sunset) where you can't get a fast shutter speed to freeze the motion without increasing your ISO. And I personally don't like to increase the ISO too much because it introduces a lot of noise to the image.

If you haven’t already heard, check out Steve Lehto’s 7.280 KZfaq show which reports a federal court ruling overturning the National Park’s legal authority to charge a permit fee for commercial video recording. I don’t know if it applies to you, but it may save you money for you channel.
