My photographer got my wedding date wrong and was in another state while I was frantically calling to find out where she was one hour after when our portraits were supposed to start (she wasn't responding to any of my texts or calls all morning). Our florist found us a wonderful new photographer an hour before our ceremony started. She was a lifesaver. I am still sad that I didn't get any getting-ready photos and have very few portraits.

my oldest son got married, I hired a photographer who came highly recommended. she didn't inform us until the day of the wedding that this would be her last wedding, as she doesn't like doing weddings 😳. She didn't take any of the photos I asked her to and she rushed everything and complained about how many people were in the wedding party, the bride and groom each had 5, that didn't seem to large to me.

Love this. I agree, you should like who you’re working with (you’re paying for it after all). If that vendor isn’t the right fit, that’s okay. I’m also glad that many vendors offer more micro-wedding pricing options to keep up with the times.

I made it within the first hour of the video being published! Hi Jamie! I love listening to the videos even though I’m not a bride (yet lol); with that said I do like prepping myself ahead of time and having all the information to make decisions 🤣 my boyfriend is aware of this and when we had a marriage talk this weekend and asked me where I would like to live after I graduated college I was like “idk, I’m just planning the wedding rn!” 🤣🤣🤣 greeeeetings!

My two favorite Wedding people together. #fangirling I heard Vanessa Joy speak at the Wedding MBA a few years ago and fell in love with her expertise and how she works. I've been following her since. And I am from San Diego so I've been a fan of Jamie's work and what she was/is able to create with familiar and now new venues. I love both of your styles and love for your craft. We definitely need more professionals like both of these ladies in the industry. 🤩🤩🤩

Jamie help!! Any photographers you can recommend in the Irvine or Orange County in California area for a wedding in November THIS YEAR?? I am not happy with my photographer I got 10 months ago but am at my end and need to hire someone else before I regret it. I hired Gifford as my DJ and am so excited because our personalities totally vibe so he was perfect! Thank you for having him on your channel!! Love you so much! You have made this process so much easier than it could have been.

So I just started my research on vendors and all of it feels really daunting. I'm going to get married somewhere where there a lot of great options but not necessarily for my budget. I'm afraid in order to find a good photographer in my budget I am going to have to be in correspondence with 50+ vendors only to learn on the 3rd email on each that they can't provide what I need or that none of their packages are even in the same ball park as my budget. Photography is the last priority for my spouse and I but I'm looking down the barrel at SO many man hours in research and communication all the same. What do I do

I would pick maybe 3-4 photographers that you really like and check to see if their website lists their starting price. If not, email them. You will probably have to schedule calls with them to get a full answer of what it will cost. I don’t really think there is an easier way to do it if I’m being honest. Time consuming, but pictures are really the only way you’ll remember this day, so it will be worth it.

Maybe make an email template and just copy + paste but change the business name? Just so you'd then only have to make a list of photographers/emails and then rank each by whether you like them or not

Hi Jaclyn 👋🏼 I'm a wedding photographer and I have some ideas that I hope will help. Being that photography is low on your priority list, you don't need to deeply research all the photogs in town. I would dedicate your research time this way: - Finding New Photography Pages on Instagram - Making a post in a local Facebook group stating your Needs & Budget - Asking your connections if they know any photographer just starting in the business As someone who has worked almost 10 years in the industry, friends and word of mouth is how I started out and I didn't charge very much. Obviously my work was not as good, but the couples were always happy and I gained experience! Hope this helps!
