I'm a professional photographer and decided to document my Camino De Santiago walk across Spain on the Camino Frances in April / May this year (2022).
This wasn't a photography trip, it was a dream holiday / pilgrimage, but I managed to shoot 7,000 images over the 6 weeks we walked across Spain. 250 of my best photos are included in this video, so I do hope you enjoy them.
I took my little Nikon Z50 travel camera, there will be more details about photography in an upcoming video, with tips and ideas, so do subscribe and click on the notification bell.

Gosh. Such amazing photography. I was spellbound all the way through and kept pausing it to have a good look and constantly said "wow". Thank you for a tremendous job well done. I met a lady yesterday who told me she had walked the Camino and kept turning around to get another viewpoint of where she had been walking which I thought was a brilliant idea rather than just focusing on the one direction.

Hello Simon, I the pleasure of watching your video. Thoroughly enjoyed it. I will be doing the Camino Frances in April 2023 - I have converted a golf trolley to a hiking trolley to carry my backpack. Did you see anyone use a hiking trolley? Do you think it is practical. Your comments will be very much appreciated. Cheers
@SimonBurnCreative

I saw a few people with trolleys, but there are a few spots where the trail is very rough so you would have to go the road route for those sections. The descent down into Molinaseca being one of them.

For cameras and lenses which are not water-resistant I have a shower cap and / or cloth over the gear when raining. An umbrella is a good option too. The Camino I'm walking in May, I'm taking larger pro-level cameras and lenses so they can get wet and I won't have to worry too much.

The route has been in place for hundreds of years, it's a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela Cathedral where the remains of St James reside. I read a lot of books and looked at a lot of videos, and it was clear the route was very scenic, great for a photographer! I did make daily notes, yes. I need to find time to write them up now, maybe turn all this into a book.

Great video, thanks for sharing. Particularly love the b&w portraits of people. I'm walking this year starting mid April. Would you say raincoat or the poncho was better for your walk in 2022?
@SimonBurnCreative
@SimonBurnCreative 7 ай бұрын
Thanks! I had a rain coat (shell) for most rainy days and worked well. But we had a couple of days when the rain came down really hard, and a poncho was the only solution to stop us getting drenched through. So my answer, have both! A poncho is light and packs up small, it doesn't need to be a fancy one, I got mine from a dollar store. Buen Camino!

@@wanderingsagestyle First of all, i guess, you must have a special reason to do so , which i didnt, like a problem to overcome, a shitty life, a real necessity of cutting with normal life, finding peace or new pace, a family problem, a health problem, yours or of other people, or you are exchanging your effort for having something back like healing of a loved one ( from God i guess). me, i was just curious about. Second, who made the camino frances ( i started from Leon) knows that its is not true at all that is always a matter of beautiful landscapes: 1/3 of the time you walk along a dangerous road, under highway bridges like an illegal migrant, in ugly villages or in awful suburbs around city, in Santiago as well. Third, being italian, i assure you that Leon and Galizia are nothing special at all compared with our landscapes and villages Finally, i heard so much people telling me before : “oh, you will see, after the camino you will come back and be different, you will understand many things, its a wonderful experience” and this was coming always from people who needed to change something in there life because they were unsatisfied. So at the end, what i learned in the camino is that i have a beautiful life like it is and that i dont have to change anything, so the phisycal and mental effort was totally useless. And you know the funny side of this? I met a lot of people, and at least 3 or 4 of them told me: “ i am very happy that i did the camino because i met you, you are different from others” So maybe the reason why God sent me to the Camino was to please others
