Very enjoyable vlog, I have just constructed a similar feeding post for Nuthatch but not put it to the test yet.

Hi Roger, another great video. What do you use as spikes for the fence feeder? I usually just screw to a post but obviously you can’t move it as easily. Many thanks.

Thanks for the kind comment Stephen. The spikes are 150mm nails I bought from screwfix.

wouldn't it be better if you cut off the protruding top to look like a capital "T" on the portable "cross" feeder? makes more space for the birds to move lengthwise and also helps better composition without the vertical intruding into your picture.

I think it is just a question of preferance . I quite like the cross. I have another vide where I use a fence that is flat. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hc2FbMeq3tGbYaM.html

Try to decide 100-400mm or 300mm

Both good lenses. In the end, I decided that rather than buy the 100-400, I will save my money and put it towards my savings for the 150-400 !

@@rogerhance5883 if I can get 7k for my Ford Lincoln mks i would get the 150-400mm im just concerned about the wieght and my back

@@garybrown9719 Although I have never held a 150-400, from what I have been told they are not that heavy. Certainly massively lighter than the Canon or Nikon equivalent !
