Hey everyone!
I made a video to hopefully help you start selling canvas prints.
You can print from Costco, my favorite place www.canvasondemand.com, or some other trusted print place.
Try selling to friends and family, then try getting into the local coffee shop or gallery.

I love the directness and simplicity of the video. Do you have one showcasing your process from start to finish? (the original photo, editing, canvas ordering, final product etc)

Dang man! These are some awesome tips. I had no idea about the crushing of blacks when you print. I just started on youtube doing Media creation reviews and tutorials, and as a media creator, I'm loving the content on your channel. I'm subbed! Keep up the great work!

Yeah! That's super important to keep in mind. Really imperative to preserve details in an image to keep it dynamic. Really appreciate the love!

I love turning a print into an acrylic piece of art. Large canvas prints look soft and artsy but clean and realistic. Very comfortable look? I use dap. Anyone else?

I am considering selling some prints I have, I would love to make this into a part time job for myself (I'm 17 and still in high school). How do you personally sell yours? And would you recommend someone who loves photography to get into the business side of this? Thanks for your help!!

Hey! If you love photography just do it, and see where your talent, skills, and hard work take you. To make a living you will have to do photography that isn't always as glamorous as landscape... a bit more technical things like real estate, event, product stuff, etc. That call all be fun too. You're very young, you have nothing to lose. You could royally screw up and still be totally fine haha. Get some prints and sell them, try a local coffee shop. People ask me for prints and I have work in a local shop. A little advice too that needs to be heard, everything in the world is a business... even photography. So, the sooner you can learn and get better with that side... the better off you'll be. Cheers!

Try using CG Pro , they do awesome canvases , Metal , ETC , Also You might want to check out ON1 Software , which makes ON1 Resize in which you can up res your Image to any size you want , you can also use their software to make your canvas wraps, it extends your image , you can mirror it, blur it , stretch it, Also CG Pro drop ships in the United States, YOU ARE WELCOME !!!

I am new to this so it may be a "dumb" question but when selling, should I add a signature to the canvas? If so, where would it be best? If not, how would others be able to recognize me as the owner of the product being displayed at a cafe/restaurant?

There are no dumb questions. A subtle watermark may be okay, but in my opinion you want the image to be just the image. If you do, maybe the lower right of the image. Cafes will often allow you to a) have write ups next to each image you have up and/ or b) allow you to post a bio write up on you the artist and your work... hope that helps. Discuss it with the patron that allows you to showcase your work.

canvas on demand vs pictorem. I will be printing limited edition highly detailed digital artwork (60x40). Who should I go with Troy?????

Hello. I've never used pictorem. Looking at them it appears it's pretty comparable to canvas on demand. Perhaps look at people's experience with both. Best of luck! Hope your 60 x 40 prints turn out great!

How do you edit your photo in PS to get the perfect size for the canvas? Do you decrease the Photo on the exact canvas size?

On the website I use, they provide the dimensions then encourage to blow the image up an additional 3 inches for the edges. I always say in the comments to maintain the aspect of the image. If there is anything wrong with the dimensions I receive an email with a suggestion or something stating that they made the canvas a special size with no additional cost.

hey i want to print canvas and make the frames myself then sell them but u are saying that 20X40 costs 150 dollar !! ?just for printing your photo or image on canvas or what and thanks for the video

That's for doing it through canvas on demand. I want to look into doing my own canvases and stretching them myself some time... when I do get to that, I will likely make another video for that. It's not cheap for good prints, but this is a great automated way of doing so that makes nice prints.

+EzeegameX Wow thank you for the compliment : ) After effects for the intro. Just mess around and keep learning. I'm so far from where I want to be. Even after putting out this video I know I could make a ton of improvements.

It's been a while since I've made one... But that sounds pricey for 8 x 8. It may be pricier now due to material shortage.

What do you mean, the actual image size? The actual image size is in pixels. Period. Any conversion to real world always has a DPI attached to it (in your video it was 300 which some canvas prints are at more like 150).

Yeah... I gotta be honest, I made this like two years ago and some change so I can’t remember what I said. DPI is important for print, PPI is for digital. 300 is good for print. Less you loose detail per inch.
