Excellent video. Hit the sweet spot between what I already know and what I didn't. I love taking a sequence of 3 shots: the wireframe model, the rendered model, and the actual woodworked object.

Thanks Darran! I’m glad there were a few things you could pick up. I wish I could control focal length in the wireframe view so I could render a matching wireframe to overlay or fade into the finished render! But I have done that model vs final before and it is so cool!

Finding Simon brought me to your channel. He featured your channel as one of his favorite 20 channels to watch on his 20,000 sub celebration. I've you and look forward to watching your video. I love woodworking projects! I'm no pro like you, but I did lay a herringbone pattern out of palette wood on my kitchen floor. It's a big kitchen in a really old house. Thanks for your videos! I hope to learn a lot.

Awesome series.......You really know your stuff. I've been using Fusion for CNC and 3D printing. And it's great for that but, I've been struggling with using it for my woodworking. I hope you show the best way to make a cut list. Thanks Doug. Subscribed !

Thanks Mark! Are asking about how to create your own default title block for new drawings or something else? I’m so glad you found the video useful!
@markscheiner3952
@markscheiner3952 6 жыл бұрын
Exactly. I know it’s coming in a future fusion 360 update and you currently need to use AutoCAD (or something similar) to create the title block, but I’m not familiar with AutoCAD and have struggled a bit here. Would also welcome a standard workshop drawing template setup with how you efficiently produce drawings with cut;oats etc. Thanks again

Thanks so much for this excellent series! One think puzzles me on your setup for photorealistic renderings. Why are you selecting the pull tab as the location for depth of field setting? I get that you want that part to be sharp with a decrease in shapness towards the back. But to me, the rendering of the box is very blurry along much of its length. If it were a photo, I would have advised the photographer to change lighting/settings to get better DoF. Since DoF sets the *midpoint* of the distance range where focus is sharpest, why not position the reference for DoF a little farther back along the box? Placed properly, the pull tab will still be 'sharp' and more of the box length will also be sharp, with decreasing sharpness along its length. Also what's up with the Credits for rendering? You never mention them...
@DNHandcrafted
@DNHandcrafted 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Steve! Glad you enjoyed the series. The credits I think apply more to the paid version of Fusion. The only time it’s been an issue with the non paid license was when I tried to render an animation at some huge credit number in one go - it just didn’t allow it. But for one off renders as long as it’s not too high res (like super high) it’s not been an issue. As far as depth of field, that would totally be up to artistic direction as well as the goal of the render. If the goal is to show off the whole box, a much smaller setting as well as a different focus point would help. Even in normal photography I often prefer one detail to be in crisp focus, though I’d control how blurry the rest is with the aperture.

Outstanding series, I can feel myself getting smarter. On the render settings screen, it said "2 credits required" at the bottom. Is that a fee associated with doing the cloud rendering?
@DNHandcrafted
@DNHandcrafted 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Mark!! I think those credits apply if you are on a paid version of Fusion. They do impact the free usage some (limits on certain rendering scenarios) but I’ve never had to pay for a render. Sometimes I’ll just use local render so I don’t have I wait in a Queue.
