A small level design practice using unity HDRP, I was aiming mainly to try lighting settings with HDRP as it needs different parameters to work together well.
you also will notice I deviated a lot from the reference and stopped following it mid process xD . but I think it turned out well.

Hello How did you make Quxiel's vegetation look so good? When I import vegetation from Quixel I have an ugly LOD and when I turn on the Vegetation Engine plug this ugly LOD only reacts to the wind. However, they still look ugly. You have some Quxiel import settings or maybe other Vegetation Engine settings? Could I please for help?

sorry for late reply , if you are using HDRP , i will suggest you make sure you added diffusion profile , you will find it mentioned in vegetation engine documentation (and you still need it if you are not using VE) and this is a post for it docs.unity3d.com/Packages/com.unity.render-pipelines.high-definition@6.7/manual/Override-Diffusion-Profile.html if the diffusion profile not added it cause something like bright green colors all over the model . also i would assume you are using quixel 3D plants , as atlases are meant for artists to use in different workflow if this doesn't help create a temp empty project where you export some quixel plants in it and upload it and share the link with me i will try to look into it

@@vbcgf it's the alpha clipping option in the material , turn it on and for the threshold value that will appear after , give a value around 0.3. that will fix your issue then you can later add lighting and fog or maybe just use demo scene from Vegetation Engine that will help make the grass look better

@@studios-wr8xw Unfortunately the "alpha clipping" setting does not work. The model did not respond to this setting at all. : / I tried with and without "Vegetation Engine". The problem persists. I have provided an additional photo to show the settings (11.PNG)

@@vbcgf i am afraid am not sure what is the issue then , your settings are pretty much like mine , upload package if possible with the plant i will try to fiddle around with it

what about collision? do u need to go through each prop and add a collider to it? and how performant is it?

well for colliders we normally add them to prefabs so you don't have to go through each element in scene , and performance for collision is normally on CPU side and mostly is on another thread so it's not something you worry much about , for performance in general there's actually a lot of things that you can do to optimize the scene but i didn't care much about it here as I wanted to focus on the level itself but even without this optimization this scene can run well at 60 fps on new/good machine , mine is GeForce 2070 and it ran at 100fps

you mean the concept image ? , check for something called " storyboard extension of Cinemachine " . it's simply a part of cinemachine you can find a couple of youtube tutorials on how to use it , if that's what you are asking for
