Wow. This is the best methodology of making cartoons out of portraits I've seen out of all other photoshop tutorials I've ever come across. Thank you so much for making this available. I wish could pay for this but I'm a totally broke at the moment. hehe!!

I'm impressed with your end result. Can you please make a tutorial on how to apply a comic book effect to photos of backgrounds? I don't like drawing backgrounds in my comic and it would save me an enormous amount of time if I learn how to achieve a decent comic book affect in these photos. Thank you!

See right at 3:40, his black brush lines are lumpy. If you want to fix that, go to your brush tool (B) then press F5 to bring up brush settings. On the first menu that shows up, at th boottom, turn spacing all the way down to 1.

They're using a high quality photo. This is why its helpful to hear a voice telling you extra bits of info and side notes....the human element is a must! thanks anyway Photoshop Picture Editor!

You should make sure when you use hot keys that you include Macs as well dude...I got lost for a sec. For those that use Macs, make sure you replace CMD with CTRL to continue following the guide

Charles Robinson hey man..this over priced mac has lasted me the past 5 years and is still going strong.. it may be a little pricy but you pay for what you get..wouldnt replace it with a crusty pc thats for sure :P

Lol, you said a mouth-full, because I felt the same way! So confusing. I can understand how some people don't like the sound of their own voice, but... it would have been sssooo much more helpful, if he spoke to the viewers, so to explain things, with more detail. Some of the things he did, went unexplained! I would LOVE to know WHY I am doing a particular thing, that way... I can actually LEARN from his video and move forward, with new information, that I can apply to other projects. It kinda feels like he doesn't WANT us to ACTUALLY learn shit, lol. He want us to remain ignorant, so we are always coming back for more. Well... I will come back, but I ain't subscribing or liking his video. I'll give him my view, but that is about it. So, thanks for the tutorial, but no thanks. *off to find a better tutorial*...

I think your practice and implementation is great. However, without you speaking and explaining things as you go I feel that most newcomers to photoshop (especially since the title is "Easy Cartoon") may not only get lost but in some instances become "scared" to continue learning how to use Ps. I haven't seen your recent videos but if you start speaking your views and support are only going to increase.

The part where you make the layer mask, I've done it and gotten the brush out and all, but when I start removing the stuff, it goes back to the default photo instead of just removing like it does in this video (I'm basically scraping off the things I just applied) showing real photo :(

OK. What did you do to make Layer 2 have the pic in it? All I saw you do was go to the "Foreground, Background" and then scroll over and then out of nowhere the pic is in Layer 2. How did you do that?

If you didn't saw the annotation on that part it says "CTRL + Delete" means to fill with background color which is black.

ctrl+shft+I inverts the selection ctrl+del fills with background color replace control with command and alt with option. I hope that helps...
