This is a photoshop tutorial that shows how to take a flat image and have it wrap seamlessly to a contoured texture. The tutorial takes a flat logo and applies it to an image of a textured blanket.

Amazing tutorial! I didn't even know this was possible in photoshop! I stumbled across this by accident while looking for displacement map tutorials in 3d modeling software. Will definitely be using this!

very helpful. Just wondering what format you saved the displacement file as...
@loumarino24532 жыл бұрын
You save it as a psd file

Thank you very much. Is it necessary to have the blanket in black and white first?
@maayketje4 жыл бұрын
yes otherwise the displacement file will influence your colours as well, you can use your coloured blanket though
@theseangle2 жыл бұрын
You can make a separate file for the displacement map with the desaturated blanket, and then just use the original coloured blanket in your main file as background. You can then just apply the displacement map from the separate file similarly.

Question about file formats for the logo. So what can be used?
@dominicmakhlouf58293 жыл бұрын
I’m pretty sure anything can be used, but the displacement map has to be a psd file

is there any video just like this but instead of just one back ground there are multiple like a guy wearing a shirt with a wall behind him . Wondering how i can change all the background colors once i desaturate
@Velldog3 жыл бұрын
Go watch New Layers video that this guy has ripped.

once this is completed, is there any way to replace the logo and still have it displaced without having to do all these steps over again?
@maayketje4 жыл бұрын
yes! place a square on top of the background and convert it to a smart object. After you converted it displace it using the method of the video. When you double click the square smart object you can place a logo in it and delete its background. Save the layer and go back to your original file and the picture should be adjusted. Colour adjustements like the black he added might influence your result so you should re do that. Or try a different blending mode, I often use multiply.

what if there's any problem with displacement, it cannot run properly
@pamjatt44725 жыл бұрын
everything worked but my image was still black and white
@maayketje4 жыл бұрын
You can open the original picture in colour as long as your displacement file is in black and white.

If you're going to blatantly copy my tutorial that has been posted on 2 of my channels with over half a million views, including using my custom (commercial use license required) texture, you should at the very least give credit: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ntumrNaS3rmmoqs.html

hey, Lou. Good video, but please speak closer to the mic, sounds like your speaking from across the room and even my volume turned up did not work well.
