Very good tutorial on the subject! Thanks for sharing. Tried with couple of my own images and noticed that you need to flip the reflection layer 180 degrees horizontally to make it look even more real. I noticed this as my reflection had some large posters and signs on it and the texts should be backwards if it is a reflection. Keep up the great work! I´ve learned so much from you!

awesome detailed tut, loving your videos and they've helped me so much! just one thing tho... you also need to horizontaly flip the image to be reflected so any text, like that forever 21 store front would look more realistic. Great job nonetheless

Always love your tutorials. If I have any criticism it that you provide almost too many techniques within a single tutorial making it hard to remember all the steps. Similarly your delivery is always so fast - my ageing brain can't always keep up! Regardless, really appreciate the guidance. Thanks!

Great tutorial! You covered some things I wouldn't have thought of. I think, though, that I thought of something you might have missed. A reflection would be backwards, so the upper image should be flipped horizontally.

Using a polarizing filter in your shot is the best way. When you try to fix this in post you need lots of image detail that just isn't there.

I notice that with a few other online tutors there is a "circle" of color around the cursor. I find the use of that color to be much easier to see exactly what you are doing. Also I feel that on these complex tuts that it appears that everything is being sped up somewhat making it more difficult (for me) to follow.

To me, the SCALE of the overlaid image (reflection) is more important that the perspective as the perspective is pretty much imperceptible. To me, the reflection seems like everything is really close to the window which would not be the case. The technique itself is wonderful though. Just my $0.02.
@raindropsneverfall
@raindropsneverfall 4 жыл бұрын
I agree. The reflection should be much stronger if you wanted to be more realistic. The outside scene should be more dominant considering the amount of light that there is.

Are you sure the perspective fix is necessary? Wouldn't the vanishing-point vary depending on the angle(s) of the window? 🤔

Reflections are also always in perspective. Try it in the real world. Take a photo of a window and look at the perspective.
