Welcome to the ultimate phrasal verbs Test. Like, subscribe and hit that notification bell! In Today’s video you will loooooove learning phrasal verbs and you will see how easy they are.
let’s watch this together then choose the correct phrasal verb
First you get on/ get off the bus and then you get on / get off at your destination ( get on/ get off)
If it is too hot on the bus you can crack the window open /crack the window up ( crack the window open)
by the way crack up means to burst into laughter.
if you want someone to move so that you can sit next to them you can say “ scooch over / scoot over” ( both are correct)
Now phrasal verbs can be challenging, because the second particle can change the meaning but it is not always the case let’s watch this
As you have noticed we cover phrasal verbs with Put
let’s see what you learned. Use the words in the box to fill in the blanks
Put away - Put down- Put out - put on
a little hint the particle can most of the time help you guess the meaning
The opposite of take off is put _
on put on means wear
If you’re done playing with your toys put them _____
away : store them in their usual place
I know your angry but you need to put your gun _____
down
You can’t smoke here put that cigarette ___
out
Bonus Put up with to accept or continue to accept an unpleasant situation or experience, or someone who behaves unpleasantly.
How can you put with your neighbors they are so loud!!!
well done let’s continue with the next part. Let’s watch this clip all phrasal verbs with up
and let’s match the phrasal verbs with their definitions
To fasten the seatbelt back up
in a vehicle for safety.
To finish drinking all of something, make up
especially a beverage.
To tidy or arrange the items in a room,
such as making the bed and organizing things use up
To drive a vehicle in reverse,
moving it away from its current position buckle up
To completely consume
or exhaust a resource or supply. drink up
answer Buckle up: To fasten the seatbelt in a vehicle for safety. Drink up: To finish drinking all of something, especially a beverage. Make up the room: To tidy or arrange the items in a room, such as making the bed and organizing things. Back up the car: To drive a vehicle in reverse, moving it away from its current position. Use up: To completely consume or exhaust a resource or supply.
Now use these verbs to fill in the blanks
I need to ________________ the rest of the milk before it goes bad.
Before driving, remember to ________________ your seatbelt.
let’S WATCH THIS . Phrasal verbs can be tricky because
Back up meanings
1.
provide support for someone or something.
"his mother backed him up on everything"
2.
COMPUTING
make a spare copy of data or a disk.
3. a car
Reversing is the process of driving a vehicle in the reverse direction in order to maneuver.
same goes for make up you tidy a room or create a story we made up an excuse
what is the solution ? keep practicing and learning like this and let me know if I should make more videos like this

So happy to hear that 🥰😀"Back up" can be both formal and informal, depending on the context in which it is used. In a formal context, "back up" can be used to mean providing support, evidence, or justification for a statement or argument. For example, "The data from the study backs up our hypothesis." In an informal context, "back up" can also mean to move in reverse or to support someone in a conflict or argument. For example, "Can you back up a little bit so I can see?" or "I'll back you up in the meeting."

When second particle in phrasal verb stays with verb, and when is divided with some other word? For example, you said 'you cracked ME up', but not 'you cracked up me'? Is there any rule? I can not figure out what is correct and when. Thnx from non-native english speaker.

Sure, here are some examples and rules for separable and inseparable phrasal verbs: 1. Separable phrasal verbs: These are phrasal verbs where the object can come between the verb and the particle, or after the particle when the object is a pronoun. Examples: - Turn off the lights. (object between the verb and the particle) - Turn the lights off. (object after the particle) Rules: - The object can be placed between the verb and the particle. - If the object is a pronoun, it must come after the particle. 2. Inseparable phrasal verbs: These are phrasal verbs where the object cannot come between the verb and the particle. Examples: - She's looking after her sick mother. Rules: - The object cannot be placed between the verb and the particle. It's important to note that some phrasal verbs can be both separable and inseparable, depending on the context. For example, "pick up" can be separable (I picked up the book) or inseparable (I picked him up at the airport).
