Thanks for a great lesson. Sorry, .. at video time 09:53, You said '' we're not getting in until midnight", this mean "we were..." (Past continuous) ??
@highlevellistening
@highlevellistening 27 күн бұрын
Good question! "We're not getting in until midnight." is the present continuous: "We are" = We're We use the present continuous to talk about future plans that are 100% certain or scheduled. "We're meeting Brian at 3:00pm. I double checked with him earlier." "I'm leaving at 4:30pm tomorrow - I have a meeting." Hope that helps!

I really want to get away and never go back:-) Sometimes we come across some rude people online or in real life. Can I ask you , do we use "get in" without object? like can I not say " I got in home" , or" I got in city " and so on?. And can it be used instead of arrive any time or just in travel context ?
@highlevellistening
@highlevellistening 27 күн бұрын
Great practice! And good question I’d usually say I just got in, what time did you get it, how did you get in And it could mean arriving home, at a hotel, new city, etc I could also use it for work: What time did you get in this morning , what time did you arrive at work this morning So we do use it a lot in the place of arrive!
