Love Essie, with how she portrayed Phryne. She gave her enough spunk, sass, and energy. The whole cast, is great!. Love the show wish it was still on.

Totally agree! Phryne is passionate, impetuous and a firebrand, while Jack is the perfect foil - calm, restrained, sedate. Love them both!

jack's jealousy and miss fisher's jealousy hit different because she cares fleetingly all the time and you know none of them mean much more to her than a flicker, while jack cares seriously every time and if a woman has been in his life she has meant something important, so when he is jealous you can laugh because you know no other man has ever come even close to meaning as much to miss fisher as him and he is just being silly, but when shes jealous you know its because she sees how devoted he is every single time (even if he has never loved anyone as much as miss fisher)

I love his whole speech, he sums up his conflict with their relationship or possible relationship so well. I'm so annoyed we never got her reply. Maybe in the movie. I feel like all her friends and relations might be more worried about his feelings and reputation than hers ;)

Annelies Wallace It’s birth control which the woman puts on the inside of her. That’s what she meant by “internal device”, the one you’re thinking about is the one where they discovered a dead body at her aunt’s house.

At that time Australia was still very influenced by Britain and dictated the fashion, food etc according to British styles. That why, growing up in Australia, we used to cook traditional Sunday roast even in the middle of summer when it was a boiling hot 40degrees Celsius outside!
