I would assume that if you hand over the map to someone, it is no longer yours and the items won't come with you to the next server. If someone saw you dive from a distance and foukd your map bundle after you left, they would get the duplicates.

The loot is tied to the map, that's why it sinking deletes the loot. That also means changing server with the map moves the loot with it, no dupe

Feels like it abit of an exploit, but I think it should be properly implemented into the game. Make it so when you dive with a buried treasure map it gets automatically posted to the map board. Then you gotta race to get it before someone on the old server picks up the map from the questboard. This would make the map board a relevant feature again, and be an authentically piratical game mechanic. IMHO.

I feel as a smuggler when I been using this method. This strategy really still pushes you to be hunted by reapers. I think it par for the course compared to server alliances. IT been around since mermaids were added and I stumbled into it while defending HG. WHICH is something to make HG barrable. What makes it exploited?

I say it feels like an exploit because it circumnavigates the clear intention by Rare to not allow players to bring their loot with them when changing servers, be it the old method using tall tales, or by the new raid diving method. I still think the system should be properly implemented as I mentioned in my last comment, but what I feel should be added to the game does not negate what the clear motive by Rare is on the matter as presented thus far. @@Scoutguy101

@captaincrooked9051 fully agree I think only one spot or cashe should move over.(that's 10 items) Maybe a menu on the changing server 🤔 That said there is enough room in this methods that if you want to stop a player from moving these loot you can't stop them from doing this

Another easy and fun addition to the map board could be that when you post loot to the board it has a chance to be there when you relog into your next session. Unless someone else snags it up.

Great vid as always phuzzy. A little side note the map bundle moves with you to the new server. Most of the time it is in water and floats where you scuttled or sank after a short time it sinks, but if you move it to land before you leave the server it will stay there. you can go retrieve it

when you dive to new server - do you have to go and dig the old loot up ? or can you leave the map bundle next to the treasure that you just buried, dive, gather your new loot, then just bury it next to the old, and dive again with all the loot saving? or you must unbury it, then rebury it ?

@@Mike-zj9ks just tested it. once you bury your loot and dive, you have I think no more than 30minutes time to go and unbury just once the loot (dont have to fully take it out, just uncover it), then you can rebury it and it stays for that server indefinitely (i think so at least) but if you bury your treasure, dive and do not unbury/rebury it - after 30minutes it will despawn. This was done with assumption that the treasure map on your ship actually sinks, I don't have time but I read something about leaving the treasure map on an island, and that you can supposedly pick it up or smtn after dive? Or perhaps the loot just stays up longer since it doesn't drown? Will try to meb test it tmrw

you can also dive to a skeleton fleet and go down to the treasury after completing it and putting the SS loot in the mermaid statue

I don't think this is unintended or an exploit really this is how burried treasure has always worked. I used to do this with portal hopping the only difference is you keep the map that way when. because when you dive the map bundle "loot" floats.

I thought someone figured out my friends glitch!- basically we learned how to make the ships passive, killing the first two and then robbing the galleon, letting it despawn, respawn and then rinse repeat. The respawn and despawn process takes 20 seconds. Just need to board and snatch that gem before it dives.

We discovered this a few weeks ago. The map bundle follows you. So if you dive with it still on your table, it will be sitting in the ocean at the coordinates where you dove from. If you drop the bundle on an island it will still be there on your new server.

We discovered this cuz we left the map bundle and 15 empty storage crates at the sovereign dock at port Merrick, dove, went to port Merrick to sell and the bundle was sitting there but no crates. I thought it was weird, and even weirder that it was for the same island. We experimented some more and we were able to add more islands to the existing bundle (when we placed it back on our quest table) and even triangulated our dive spot to verify it did indeed drop in the water. (Note: someone CAN find the bundle and dig up your treasure before you get to it)

I'll be very curious as to how Rare handles this. My gut says this gets patched out......their intention is that loot gets left behind when you dive. But who knows, they may view this differently.

Yk what would work great with this trick? Getting a skull of destiny, then burying it at fotd. then rinse and repeat and stack fotd more easily.

We use the bury mechanic quite a bit but nobody ever actually touches the quest board for posted voyages. Now suddenly the whole system incubated up to now for a seriously disruptive exploit lmfao Thats probably a way to dupe an entire stack of loot. Now that i think about the quest board/map bundles... after reworking all the voyages they didnt buff the default quests for the board, or the reward for burying the treasure dispite having to go to an outpost to put the bundle away where you may aswell have kept the loot to sell it They probably busted their ass to design/impliment it. Give us good loot from it and we will do it. So if rare fixes this they may aswell give the quest board/map bundle system some value while thier messing with it.

So if you throw map in water , then sink to a ship, when you respawn, will you have the map back ?

No, It will be in the water until it despawns. And, from what I know, if it despawns, then the loot does too. Maybe, if you dive before map bundle despawns, the items will transfer to another server, like in this video, but i'm unsure, whether you need the map bundle on your ship, or not.

the emblem is more gold/xp than a chest of legend. its 100% worth it to do skeleton fleets.... you'll need athena level 40 though.

Now I'm really curious- if the treasure exists on the old server, could it be stolen by a crew on the old server before you manage to dig it up on the new server, and would that be reflected on the new server or not?

Good question but no real way to know unless you do the testing yourself or see the code. But either no point spending too much time on it as it will probably get patched out soon enough anyway.

I been doing this since season. 8. That said unless they see you bury it. It going to be hard for them to guess where it is at. You can as the crew on the old server ... there is ways to fix this problem.

just tried and found out that i think you have to bury the loot do another raid voyage come back to the island you just buried your loot dig it up and then bury it with the new loot you have. i didnt dig it up when i got to my island and after about 5-10 mins of me being on the island it despawned the loot that was buried? so yup dig up the loot

@@CowboyCaleb64 I tested it, after you dive - you have no more than 30minutes to go to your OG loot and just shovel it up once(dont need full unbury) then you can bury it back down for it to count as reset for that server. The one loot piece I did not rebury was gone after 40mins so yeah. Someone should test - if you leave the treasure map on an island, instead of in the water (where it despawns supposedly after those 30mins? whereas on the island idk it stays up longer/perma?) then perhaps you have more time or infinite time and don't need to worry about reburying ?

It will sink and drop another one. Currently I had double from the finial ship. Not sure why they have it spawn on the ship at all till the ship sinks.

6:10 what does he mean by ''shipwrecks are solo friendly'' ? like veil shipwrecks? or shipwrecks in general? because veil shipwrecks are deffo I think not solo friendly? having to be underwater where you can't scout around your ship, having to check 5 or something ships for athenas loot... maybe just singular shipwrecks are aight tho?

Check his earlier videos; you can force a veil shipwreck in the Devil's Roar and it's pretty safe. In addition to the Athena loot from the shipwrecks, placing the veil stone in your talisman will give a pretty big boost to emissary grade, making it easy to get to level 5.

@@jarvisnelson1878 yeah I've seen the veil shipwreck strat where u take the ones in devils ridge, but like I say I fail to see how they are ''solo friendly'' seeing as you have to dive underwater, search like 5 ships for ancient/athenas loot. Obviously this is A LOT quicker,safer,easier with a group of 2-4 people which goes against what he's saying. I just don't see why he thinks veil shipwrecks are ''solo friendly'' in particular - I'd say they're like duo to quads friendly, and solo least friendly. It is probably not a bad voyage to cheese spam even solo, sure, but again, I don't see how it's better solo over duo+

Yes, because the treasure does have a despawn time after switching to another server, just like when loot stays in water, it will sink disappear doing the digging insures that the loot stays and does not go away the digging and undigging is very time consuming doing this

couldnt you do like crazy fotd item stacking with this strat? usually reason why we don't do fotd is, like this one time we loaded up the ship and got ganked by teamers and lost it all, think if you bury all the treasure around in fotd, then dive to new server - you should surely be in a clear fotd where you can pullup with no aggro and yoink ur stuff

So, you can crash a server doing that. Alliance servers do something similar with just stacking the servers up too much. There really is a simple solution to have that small cluster of high valued items. You can still sink to as you go to sell it all.

Yeah it has always been like that and HAS to work that way. Otherwise a random server merge would wipe all your buried treasure. This is why if I have to hide loot on islands to retrieve later I always bury, it has saved my loot from server merges many times.
