Comment to add: it depends on your crew size in general. We're usually sailing brig and my mates drop me at FotD to do it while they're going anywhere else. I always get 4 captains at the captain waves and more than 7 skellies.

Phuzzy has said that he doesn't like to rely on it since it could be patched, but you can put mega kegs in the wall to the right at 5:50. They can be blown up, but not grabbed by a tucker. I don't think that it's getting patched though. It's been years.

Servers are smaller now, so you dont even have to count most times ,if theres no one on map or anyone lingering at a distance.

7mo old vid so I probs won't get a reply but are we sure about this?? The only test was someone joining your crew, but there's a difference between more people in your crew and other random nearby players outside of your crew, no? I didn't notice a health increase with how many times you were hitting the skellys in the last clip, and the ship was so far away. Does that mean if there are other people within your render distance it counts, and it's not even if they're at the island? I think this needs more testing or clarification..

this information will be extremely helpful when i try solo FotDs. I'll keep this in mind next time. So summary: Solo: (no tuckers or additional crewmembers) 7 Shadows (three sword bites) 2 Captains Greymarrow (2 Stronghold and normal Kegs.) Tucked: 7+ Shadows (5 Sword Bites) 3+ Captains Greymarrow (3+ Stronghold Kegs) Listen for slow splashing for potential keg bombers and stand at the bowsprit to minimise damage.
